Tippeligaen Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Sunday 13th September by @ChrisOgle2

Tromso v Mjondalen & Rosenborg v Stabaek

The first set of fixtures after the international break in Norway sees a tinderbox fixture ready for goals.

At 2.30pm Sunday UK time, two of Norway’s relegation contenders square off on Sunday afternoon as Tromso host Mjondalen. As has been highlighted in this column previously, the Norwegian top flight is a hotbed of goals, with almost half a goal extra per game than most European leagues.

Both Tromso and Mjondalen have their fair share of troubles throughout the season with both teams languishing in the bottom three. Primarily this has been through their inability to stop teams scoring against them. In 44 games total that they have featured in this season, they have shipped a combined total of 92 goals.

Delving into the stats further, Mjondalen haven’t kept a clean sheet in 21 games, and when the average combined goal totals both for and against, when calculating the home and away bias is at the 3.46 goals per game, you know you’re in for goals fest. Add into that that in the combined last 16 games for both teams, only on 4 occasions have both team failed to score.

The line makers have set the goals line for over 2.75 at 1.80. Based on the poor defences on show, and the set up for goals based on team make ups, this looks short by at least half a goal.

Take over 2.75 goals and settle in for some high octane goalmouth action.

Later in the day, it’s the turn of the table toppers in this year’s Tippilaegen as Stabaek make the trip to Rosenborg. It looks all systems go for Rosenborg as they march towards the 2015 title they feel they should have won in 2014. A great record of 27 points from their 11 home games highlights how tough the trip to the Lerkendal Stadion is for most travelling teams.

However, it would seem most bookmakers have already written off the chances of Staebek on Sunday teatime with Rosenborg installed as 1.40 favourites. Despite Rosenborgs awesome record overall and their dominance of the league this season, Stabaek have accumulated 21 points in 11 away games this season (2nd best record in the league) and scored in each of their last 10 away games.

Their current 2nd place standing may well be unexpected, but it’s certainly not undeserved, and with a 1.25 goal head start for Staebek available at 2.00, this has to be the angle in.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Tromso v Mjondalen Over 2.75 goals at 1.80

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Staebek +1.25 at 2.00

Prices correct at the time of writing.
