Santos vs Internacional – Estadio Vila Belmiro 15:00
We have a thrilling encounter in Sao Paulo on Sunday afternoon as Internacional make the journey North to play Santos as both team persistently chase down Copa Libertedores qualification.
Internacional have publicly stated that their big aim this season is to win the Copa Do Brasil and with the side already at the quarter final stage they’ll start to rest players in league games in order to advance.
Sitting just three points behind local rivals Palmeiras who currently occupy the fourth Copa Libertedores spot is today’s home side Santos who will no doubt be confident of grabbing the three points after their last home game.
In their last home game at the Vila Belmiro, Santos managed to dismantle title contenders Atletico MG 4-0 in what is probably the most convincing win of the season in this division. They followed that up with an away defeat to this seasons champions to be Corinthians and a win against Figuereinse in the Copa Do Brasil.
The price on Internacional has come in a little bit to much after their 1-0 win away to Coritiba last week where they were battered all game but got a goal on the counter attack and managed to hold on for the three points. That is their only win in their last six away games since they went to Joinville and picked up a win, The Inter game plan today will be to come to the Vila and try to play for a draw.
I like being on the home side this game as Santos’ record at the Vila Belmiro is nothing short of fantastic, Santos have managed to win their last eight games at home in Serie A this season and I would have happily backed them -0.75 so do get the -0.50 line on them is something of a “gimme”
Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Santos -0.5 at 1.84
