Man Utd v Liverpool – Old Trafford at 16:00 live on Sky Sports 1
Sunday throws up a huge Premier League clash between Manchester United and Liverpool, which is the focus of my Asian Handicap preview.
Man United are suddenly back in the title hunt after a dramatic improvement under Mourinho in recent months.
Liverpool meanwhile are only 5 points behind league leaders Chelsea.
Man United are in great form, having won their last 9 games across all competitions. The Red Devils are now also undefeated in 15 matches.
Their impressive form has seen them move up to 6th in the Premier League, after a rocky start under Jose Mourinho.
The home side are still 10 points off league leaders Chelsea, but there is still hope in light of their current form!
Mid-week Man United beat Hull 2-0 in the 1st leg of their EFL Cup semi-final to extend their unbeaten run. Unless Hull pull off a huge shock in the 2nd leg, it looks as if Mourinho’s men will make the EFL Cup final.
In their last Premier League game, United beat West Ham 2-0, with Mata and Ibrahimovic both getting on the scoresheet.
Zlatan has scored 13 league goals so far this campaign and is proving to be a great signing from PSG.
The Red Devils have kept a clean sheet in their last 3 games across all competitions and will be tough to beat at Old Trafford, in the current form they’re in.
Mid-week Liverpool were also involved in the EFL Cup, but suffered a 1-0 defeat against Southampton in their away leg. They’ll have to turn it around at Anfield if they want to make the final.
In the Premier League however, The Reds are undefeated in their last 6 matches.
Their last league game resulted in a 2-2 draw against Sunderland however, a game which on paper they should have won comfortably.
The away side are 2nd in the Premier League, 5 points behind Chelsea, although it could have been a lot closer with a win over The Black Cats.
You could even say Liverpool are having a mini blip, as they now haven’t won in 3 games across all competitions.
Liverpool may be the Premier League top scorers, but they’ve failed to score in their last 2 games against Southampton (EFL Cup) and Plymouth (FA Cup).
Away from Anfield, Klopp’s side tend to find the net however and they’ve scored in 82% of their Premier League away games.
Saido Mane will miss out due to African Cup of Nations duty. He’s contributed 9 league goals so far this campaign and will be a big loss.
Asian Handicap Prices
The sides drew 0-0 at Anfield back in October and I’m expecting another close game on Sunday.
Manchester United are in great form and also taking into account their home advantage, they look value -0.25 on the Asian Handicap market at 1.85.
I’m expecting Liverpool’s blip to continue, as the home side nick this game by a single goal.
Asian Handicap Recommendation: Man United -0.25 at 1.85
