Monaco v Lille Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Friday 14th August

Monaco v Lille – Stade Louis II at 19:30 live on BT Sport 1

Monaco host Lille tomorrow night having come away from a tough match at Nice last weekend as 2-1 winners.

Lille suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of current champions PSG, but will be disappointed to walk away defeated after the Parisien’s were reduced to 10 men in the first half. Good news for us though, as we picked up a half win backing PSG -0.75 on the Asian Handicap betting market.

Leonardo Jardim’s men showed real character against Nice having gone a goal down before Silva and Kurzawa’s goals led them to victory. It has to be noted however, that Nice were reduced to 10-men on the stroke of half time when they led 1-0.

Three points in three points though and Monaco will be looking to add to them at the Stade Louis II tomorrow night. They started last season very poorly, picking up just 4 points from their first 5 matches which ended their title challenge before it really began. A win tomorrow night will boost their confidence further and with a stronger squad than last term, there is no reason why Les Rouges et Blancs can’t mount a serious challenge on the Ligue 1 title this season.

One area they will need to improve on however, is there home form. Whilst they only suffered defeat on home soil twice, their 9 draws eclipsed their 8 wins.

New Lille coach Herve Renard wasn’t dealt the best hand, hosting the champions for their Ligue 1 opener and it doesn’t get much easier going up against another one of the title favourites in his second match.

Renard was forced to make a lot of changes to his squad throughout the summer and they’re going to take some time to gel. Facing Monaco at the Stade Louis II has come to soon for Lille to stand a real chance.

Their away form last season was one of the worst in the league, losing 11 times and unfortunately for Les Dogues, I expect this season’s first away fixture to end in defeat.

Monaco are priced up at a surprising 1.75 to win the match which I make a good bit of value. I have no doubt they will win tomorrow and am confident backing them on the Asian Handicap betting market -0.75 at 1.83.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Monaco -0.75 @ 1.83

Prices correct at time of writing.
