Liverpool v Sunderland Asian Handicap Preview – Saturday 26th November by @tashason21

Liverpool v Sunderland – Anfield at 15:00

My latest Asian Handicap preview focuses on the Premier League game between Liverpool and Sunderland. The Black Cats have sparked a mini-revival in their last 2 games, although I can’t see them causing Liverpool much of a problem.

Liverpool

The Reds are flying this campaign and haven’t lost in 13 matches across all competitions.

As a result, they currently find themselves sat 2nd in the league table, just one point behind Chelsea and ahead of Man City on goal difference.

Liverpool are undefeated at home this season, winning 4 and only drawing 1 of their home games (0-0 against Manchester United).

Jürgen Klopp’s side are also the highest scorers in the Premier League, finding the net 30 times in just 12 games.

The deadly trio of Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane each have 6 goals to their name and have caused even the best of defences problems this camapign.

The downside to Liverpool’s play is that defensively they are considerably weaker. The Reds have only kept 2 clean sheets in their 12 matches to date, with Manchester United (0-0) and Southampton (0-0) being the only teams which haven’t been able to breach The Reds’ defence.

Liverpool have conceded at least one goal in 80% of their home matches and a clean sheet against Sunderland is by no means a banker, especially as The Black Cats are coming into this game off the back of back-to-back Premier League wins.

67% of Liverpool’s matches have had over 2.5 goals scored in total, but with the Asian line set at over 3.5 goals for just under even money, I’d avoid touching this market.

Sunderland

After 10 Premier League matches, Sunderland hadn’t won a single game and as a result sat rock bottom of the table.

The Black Cats had only managed to pick up 2 Premier League points, although their fortunes have changed in recent weeks.

Sunderland have now won back to back league games against Bournemouth (2-1) and Hull (3-0), although they remain in the relegation zone and are still 3 points off safety.

Jermaine Defoe has scored 3 goals in his last 3 games and he’s more than capable of breaching a poor Liverpool back-line.

Sunderland have conceded in all of their away matches to date and I am expecting the match on Saturday to be no different.

Asian Handicap Prices

Liverpool’s Asian Handicap line is set at -2.25, which I am not convinced they will cover, although I do expect a home win.

The Reds were held to a 0-0 draw away at Southampton last week and Sunderland will come into this game full of confidence after back-to-back Premier League wins. An in-form Defoe is always capable of nicking a goal back too.

Over 1.5 goals have been scored by halftime in 80% of Liverpool’s home matches this season and therefore I recommend backing over 1.5 1st half goals at 2.02, which looks better value

Asian Handicap Recommendation: Over 1.5 1st half goals at 2.02
