Liverpool v Chelsea Asian Handicap Preview – Tuesday 31st January by @tashason21

Liverpool v Chelsea – Anfield at 20:00 live on BT Sport 1

My latest Asian Handicap preview focuses on Tuesday’s top 4 Premier League clash between Liverpool and Chelsea.

The Reds are currently in disarray and I would back Chelsea to get the victory in this one, causing another upset at Anfield

Liverpool were looking unstoppable and like potential Premier League title winners earlier on in season.

A terrible January however, has left them out of both the EFL & FA Cup and 4th in the league, 10 points behind league leaders Chelsea.

Their most recent defeat came against Wolves at Anfield in the FA Cup, whereby another poor performance saw them lose 2-1.

The Reds are no doubt missing their joint top-scorer Saido Mane and of the 8 games they’ve played so far in January, they’ve won just 1, against League Two Plymouth Argyle.

Mane could feature against Chelsea, after flying home from African Cup of Nations duty.

In their last Premier League game, Liverpool lost 3-2 at home to relegation battlers Swansea and opponents do not come tougher than Chelsea!

Last weekend Chelsea sailed through to the 5th round of the FA Cup, after their convincing 4-0 win over Brentford.

Chelsea have won 14 of their last 15 games across all competitions and they’re currently 8 points ahead of 2nd placed Arsenal in the Premier League.

It’s hard to foresee anyone pipping Chelsea to the league title in the form they’re in.

Defensively Chelsea have looked solid and since the start of November, the Blues have conceded just 6 goals in 12 league games.

Away from home Chelsea have also looked impressive and they’ve won 73% of their away matches in the league to date.

Conte’s men have scored 13 goals in their last 4 games and it’s somewhat surprising they are the underdogs in this Premier League tie.

Asian Handicap Prices and Total Goals

Despite their poor form, Liverpool are the firm favourites to win this clash and can be backed at 2.55, whilst the visitors can be backed at 3.04.

At first glance, over 2.5 goals looks a decent bet at 2.09, as both teams have played some great attacking football this season. However, Chelsea have conceded just 6 goals in their last 12 league games and Liverpool have only scored 5 goals in their last 7 games.

Chelsea haven’t lost in their last 4 visits to Anfield and I recommend backing Chelsea draw no bet on the Asian Handicap market, which looks value at 2.15.

Asian Handicap Recommendation: Chelsea +/-0 (Draw No Bet) at 2.15
