Leicester v Newcastle – King Power Stadium at 12:45 live on BT Sport 1
First up this weekend is media friendly Nigel Pearson and his Leicester team who gave Chelsea a scare on Wednesday night, when they led 1-0 at half time but eventually succumb 3-1 to the champions elect.
That score line gave us yet another winning Asian handicap betting tip and the professionals have found a great value bet to keep the profits rolling in again this weekend.
As mentioned in the previous Leicester preview, the Foxes are in the enviable position of not only playing three of their last four matches at home but also facing three other relegation threatened sides. Their Premier League status is their hands and they are the form team in the bottom six at the moment.
Pearson’s side had won four straight until Chelsea proved too strong in midweek, but they demonstrated exactly why they are heavily favoured to avoid the drop this season. Since moving to a back three, that enabled them to compete in midfield and play two strikers up front, their fortunes have been transformed.
Over the last six matches no team in the league has scored more goals than Leicester and coming up against a Newcastle side who have lost seven on the spin and conceded fifteen goals in the process, the home fans will be expecting another victory on Saturday lunchtime.
The sorry looking Magpies simply can’t wait for the season to end and beleaguered manager John Carver must be wondering what possessed him to take on the task of filling Alan Pardew’s shoes in the first place. With just one win in eleven games, which came back in February at home against Aston Villa and just seven goals in that period, it really is a desperate end to a season which had showed some early promise.
In fact, although unlikely it is still mathematically possible that Newcastle can get relegated this season and perhaps that if nothing else might stir them into life before the curtain comes down on the 2014/15 season.
Looking at the Asian handicap betting line for this match, Leicester are chalked up with a -0.5 handicap which seems fair enough based on the fact that they are playing at home against the worst team in the division, in terms of current form at least. Unfortunately, the odds on price offers no value on the hosts but we simply can’t back Newcastle with their form, regardless of the price.
So, bring on the goals! Over 2.75 goals at 2.20 offers some value and although Newcastle have not been finding the net much of late, four of their last six games finished with three or more goals. With relegation now staring them in the face, the fans will be praying that their team can at least rediscover their scoring touch on Saturday.
As mentioned, the Foxes are scoring for fun right now and with both teams in desperate need of a win, this could be one of those crazy end of season goal fests we often see where a draw does neither team any favours at this stage of the campaign.
Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Over 2.75 Goals at 2.20
