Leicester City v Manchester City – King Power Stadium at 19:45 GMT

Two former Champions of the Premier League will take on each other in the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup. Manchester City will travel to the King Power Stadium on Wednesday to meet Leicester City in what is considered to be one of the most anticipated fixtures for the season. These two sides also met at the same stage during last season’s competition, with Manchester City bagging the 4-3 win on penalties following a 1-1 draw at the Foxes’ home turf.

Manchester City are currently one of the hottest teams in Europe, picking up the stunning feat they left last season. They are at the 2nd spot in the Premier League table just behind leaders Liverpool by only a single point after they encountered a setback against Chelsea. Man City just lost one in 17 Premier League matches played this season, and if they manage to come out victorious on Tuesday’s match, they might come back to the top of the table.

On the other hand, Leicester City are desperate to return to what was once an incredible form a few seasons back. While they lost a few important players, the passion and the hunger for glory remain with them. Despite seeing their seven-match undefeated streak ended by Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City will be coming into the King Power Stadium expecting yet another tough challenge but hopeful and confident at the least.

The last time these two sides met was at the Etihad Stadium in February, back when Man City secured the 5-1 victory with Sergio Aguero notching four goals past the Foxes. Tuesday night will surely be exciting. Expect the King Power Stadium to be full of thrill and eagerness as these two sides meet again for this season’s English Football League Cup.

Leicester City

Harry Maguire is primarily a defensive player who craftily hones his technical ability to a level few players of his position have been able to. His ball-passing and distribution greatly supplement his defensive abilities which make him one of the best in his position.

Jamie Vardy was the first Leicester City player in the club’s history to ever score 50 Premier League goals in November of the 2017-18 season. He is also the only player to score against each of the ‘Big Six’ in the Premier Leagues. His impressive scoring expertise is really an important part in Leicester’s victories.

Manchester City

Kevin De Bruyne had a minor setback to his City career mainly because of his knee injury, however, once he returned to training, he has only gotten better than ever. He had his best season with Man City so far last year and was in a stellar form as they secured the Premier League title, becoming the first team to ever reach 100 points. He has been one of City’s key players since joining the club.

Raheem Sterling has been criticized for his immaturity and temper problems in crucial situations; however, it is important to recognize how far he improved from last season. He has been praised for his remarkable performances and excellent run of form.

Leicester City v Man City: 1-2

It seem likely that Pep Guardiola’s side will have no difficulty in securing the victory for this match since they are considered as the best team in England right now, and even possibly the best in all of Europe. City will not take this match lightly since they need to return to the top of the table. However, Leicester City should not be underestimated since they, too, have the ability of getting past big teams in the league.
