Inter Milan v Barcelona
The two sides are looking towards their eighth meeting on Tuesday as Inter hosts the Catalan at the Stadio Giuseppe Mezza. In their previous meeting, Barcelona dominated Inter Milan much easier than expected to close in the qualifying rounds for the last 16 rounds of the Champions League. Inter Milan was a great disappointment during their face-off with Barcelona, having won their last seven Serie A matches, and with nine victories in their previous ten across all competitions. Their only loss came from the hands of the Catalans, however, the Italian side took that defeat as a way for them to keep improving. Inter Milan will have to top another five points to secure their place in the last 16 of the competition.
The Serie A side are flying high domestically at the moment. Although trying to overpower a Cristiano Ronaldo inspired Juventus seems impossible, Inter is currently placed second in the league. They managed to hit 20 goals in their previous 10 matches even without Mauro Icardi. However, Icardi is expected to be return for their match with the Barcas, being one of Inter’s key players that should scare the opposition’s defence. Inter also welcomed back their talented midfielder, Radja Nainggolan, at the weekend.
On the other hand, Barcelona remained at the top of La Liga rankings with a successful run at Rayo Vallecano, keeping them in the position to claim the title in the Spanish top flight. The Barcas are hopeful that Lionel Messi could make an appearance for the match, however, even without the Argentine striker, the Catalans are confident to bag the win in this match following a thrashing 5-1 victory over rivals Real Madrid in the El Clasico. Luis Suarez stepped up in Lionel Messi’s absence and it seems he’ll be looking to carry on that form in their battle against Inter.

Napoli v PSG
Napoli will host Paris Saint-Germain in what is expected to be one of the most entertaining fixtures in the Champions League. There are few Champions League faceoffs quite as great as this match. Both Napoli and PSG are trailing Liverpool in the battle to make it to the last 16. While the two sides have upcoming big encounters with Liverpool ahead, they will first face each other once again just weeks after playing out in a rousing 2-2 draw. The result left PSG the underachieving in the group, currently sitting in the third place which is a point shy of Napoli. If PSG loses in their battle against Napoli, it will leave the former on the verge of elimination, a devastating blow to the greatest forward line in the world of football.
Napoli have a pretty remarkable attacking line-up at the moment. The partnership that is developing between Lorenzo Insigne and Dries Mertens seems like a great strategy by Carlo Ancelotti after shifting to a 4-4-2 formation. Ancelotti is hoping to take the team onto new heights in the rankins, and beat last campaign’s group elimination. The hosts are aware that two victories will secure their place in the last 16. They also managed to come out victorious in a match against Liverpool in their only home game so far.
Meanwhile, there is pressure on PSG following two disappointing performances. Despite overpowering Red Star in a 6-1 thrashing, they bowed down to Liverpool in a 3-2 away match. In their previous meeting, Napoli nearly dominated them, with Angel Di Maria netting a stellar late leveler to rob the PSG of a victory. PSG looked timid at Anfield, losing three of their previous Champions League away trip. The battle between these two teams will surely be an exciting one since the result of this match will create a huge impact on the final standings.

Atletico Madrid v Borussia Dortmund
All eyes will on Wanda Metropolitano Stadium as Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund have their face-off. The clash between these two sides is sure to be an exciting one as Borussia Dortmund were 4-0 winners in an awful night for Atletico Madrid. The Spanish outfit won just one of their five matches against the German side in a European competition, which includes defeats in three of their most recent encounters.
It’s been a mixed campaign for the Spanish side so far, dropping more points at the weekend. A 1-1 draw against Leganes left them four points behind Barcelona. They set their eyes on improving last season’s Champions League performance as they went five points clear in the second place in group A. However, they’re only clear by default after a series of poor performances against Club Brugge and Monaco. Furthermore, with Diego Costa and Diego Godin ruled out for the duel against Dortmund, a win might be doubtful for the hosts.
In the meantime, Dortmund unrelentingly leads the way in the Bundesliga. Their victory against Wolfsburg last weekend placed them four points clear at the top of the table. Playing in an away match seems to make their campaign even better, and their high scoring peaked in a series of impressive victories. A point against the Spanish outfit will secure Dortmund’s place in the last 16. With a record of 38 goals in 13 matches in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League, Borussia Dortmund have quite a solid campaign so far this season.
