Augsburg v Hannover – WWK Arena AT 14:30 GMT

Few Bundesliga pundits gave Augsburg any chance of picking up points in their most recent two outings. The Bavarians had to host high-flying Borussia Dortmund before travelling to in-form RB Leipzig last weekend and the Manuel Baum’s men surprisingly came away with four points.

The Fuggerstädter had lost 10 of their 13 matches before toppling Dortmund 2-1 at the Augsburg Arena, and followed that effort up with a well-earned 0-0 draw in Leipzig. Augsburg remain only a place and three points above the relegation play-off place but optimism has returned after a wretched run of results.

Augsburg have never won points of all four teams at the top of the division and they’ll now look to cement their place in next season’s Bundesliga with a dominant display against struggling Hannover on Saturday afternoon. The hosts have already W2-D2-L0 when welcoming bottom-seven opposition this term.

Struggling Hannover

A deluge of snow caused a stoppage in Hannover’s contest at home to Leverkusen last weekend. The second-from-bottom outfit eventually lost that encounter 3-2 despite coming back from 2-0 down, only to lose to a late goal. Making the defeat harder to grasp was the weather, as Genki Haraguchi was denied when his goalbound shot got stuck in the flurry.

The Leverkusen loss was Hannover’s eight in nine and Thomas Doll’s side are now five points adrift of the relegation play-off place. Having won only three times since promotion – and not once on the road – time is really running out on the Lower Saxony side if they’re to avoid immediate demotion.

Goals to flow

Although Augsburg’s recent displays suggest they deserve to be strong favourites to succeed on Saturday, I prefer to play the goals markets where Over 2.75 Goals can be snapped up at 1.85.

This selection sees us make money should at least three goals be scored with a half-stakes profit ensured if exactly three goals are netted and a full-stakes pay-out earned should four or more goals be plundered.

Collectively, the two teams have delivered 17/24 (71%) winners in the Over 2.5 Goals market when viewing their respective home/away records with 13/24 (54%) matches producing four or more goals. The duos’ games in that sample are averaging 3.63 goals per-game whilst Expected Goals (xG) has the pair in for 3.03 goals.

Asian Total Goals Betting Recommendation: Over 2.75 Goals at 1.850
