Atletico Mineiro v Atletico Paranaense Asian Handicap Preview – Sunday 21st August

Atletico MG v Atletico PR – Estádio Independência at 15:00

On Sunday afternoon we have a fantastic group of fixtures to look forward to and we’ll be taking a look at the early kick off between Atletico MG and Atletico PR. By using Eastbridge’s sports betting brokerage you’ll be able to get the best price available in the Asian handicap market!

Both of these sides have had a fantastic start to the season and with only five points separating the sides we should be in for a close and competitive game in Belo Horizonte.

Atletico MG have been excellent in recent weeks and it’s put them up to fourth place in the Serie A table just four points behind current leaders Palmeiras. Out of their last six games, Atletico MG have managed to pick up 15 points, winning five games and losing just one which came last week in a 3-0 thrashing away to Santos.

That Santos performance really did come out of the blue from Atletico MG who really didn’t turn up for the game and struggled to string two passes together. This came as a shock for everyone as MG had recently turned over both Sao Paulo and Palmeiras away from home.

With five goals in thirteen appearances this season, former Brazil national team forward Fred looks to have become a real coup for MG. With Fred leading the line as a natural number 9 it allows former Manchester City and Real Madrid winger/false no.9 Robinho to drift into wide areas and also into the pocket just in front of the forward and create chances.

Since leaving Milan, Robinho has drifted from spells with Santos and Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande without ever impressing at either club. At the age of 32 it seemed somewhat of a marketing ploy from Atletico MG when they signed him in order to up their shirt sales. Eight goals and nine assists later in 20 league games and it now looks more like a stroke of genius.

Atletico PR are an extremely competitive team in the Brazilian top flight and they never allow teams to take points from them without a fight. They don’t have the ability to blow teams away but they fight that hard for each other that teams are never able to take them apart. Eight out of PRs last eight games have gone under 2.50 goals and we’ll be backing the same here in what should be a highly competitive game.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Under 2.5 goals at 2.02
