Tottenham v Monaco Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Thursday 10th December by @SC457

Tottenham v Monaco – White Hart Lane at 20:05 live on BT Sport Europe

Tottenham will be hoping to finish the Europa League group stage at the top by beating Monaco this evening at White Hart Lane.

Spurs have had a great start to the season both domestically and in Europe, as Mauricio Pochettino shows it is possible to juggle the 2 competitions.

The hosts currently sit 5th in the Premier League just 6 points behind leaders Leicester and have already secured a place in the last 32 of the UEL after their 1-0 win away to Qarabag last time out. Many are tipping them up for a top 4 finish in the BPL and they are currently 17.0 to lift the Europa League trophy.

With just one slip up in group J so far, away to Anderlecht, Spurs are top of the group with 10 points, beating Qarabag home and away, Anderlecht at home and drawing with Monaco in the reverse of tonight’s fixture. The North Londoners deserved all 3 points at the Stade Louis II and it looked on the cards until Monaco levelled late on.

Spurs have a strong, young squad and although the focus will be on their weekend league match with Newcastle having already secured a place in the knock-out stage, a strong starting XI is expected.

Monaco are struggling with consistency this season, especially in Europe with just one win in their 5 group matches. In Ligue 1 however, they sit in 4th and look good for a place in next season’s Champions League but have managed just 2 wins in their last 5 domestically.

Their record of W1-D3-L1 in Europe has left them in third place and qualification out of their hands. They need Anderlecht to slip up against Qarabag and hope they get a result here tonight.

The French side have lost some key players over the last couple of season and are developing a new, younger team which aren’t quite there yet. They need to go for it tonight though having to win so I’m expecting them to attack from the start. That could play into Tottenham’s hands though and I make the hosts great value -0.5 at 2.09 on the Asian Handicap betting market.

With an open game expected, there should also be goals. Spurs have scored in all of their 5 group matches, Monaco in 4. Monaco have also only failed to score once in their 17 league game this season and in every one of their away matches both in France and Europe.

You can back Over 2.5 goals at a juicy 2.05 but I don’t expect that to last.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Over 2.5 goals at 2.05
