Tottenham v AC Milan Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Wed 5th August

Tottenham v AC Milan – Allianz Arena at 17:15 live on Premier Sports

Tottenham finish off their pre-season against AC Milan this evening at the Allianz Arena in the third place play-off for the Audi Cup. Spurs were beaten 2-0 by Real Madrid last night and thanks to Gareth Bale’s 79th minute strike, our Asian Handicap Betting recommendation of Real Madrid -1.5 came in.

AC Milan were thrashed by an impressive Bayern Munich side 3-0 after being dominated throughout the 90 minutes. Milan only managed one attempt on goal, which was not on target and had just 38% of the ball. The Bavarian’s created 22 chances, 10 of which were on target, it could have been worse for the Rossoneri.

That defeat for Milan is the fourth time in as many Audi Cup competition’s they have not made it to the final and will now try to avoid their third 4th place finish. Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men are slight favourites at 2.61 which may surprise some considering their performance yesterday and their disappointing 10th place finish in the Serie A last season.

Until last night though, Milan had kept clean sheets against Real Madrid and Inter as well as winning 2 pre-season friendlies 5-1 against lower league Italian opposition. The only defeat they suffered prior to Bayern was a 2-1 loss to Lyon.

Tottenham finished 5th in the Premier League last season but still some way off a top 4 spot which has to be their main aim this year. Their pre-season preparations have been quiet, playing their first official friendly against the MLS All-Stars last week in Colorado which they lost 2-1. The 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid would have helped with match fitness but not their confidence. They still rely heavily on Harry Kane going forward and if he starts, he will have a tough time breaking down the Milan defence if they can recover from last night drubbing.

Spurs are the underdogs at 2.9 and are a tempting bet on the Asian Handicap betting market +/- 0 at 2.09, however the real value lies on the goals market.

With Tottenham’s limited options in attack and the belief that Milan’s defence can regroup from last nights defeat, the Under 2.5 goals price looks big at 2.10. The Rossoneri have decent attacking options themselves, with new signings Carlos Bacca and Luiz Adriano, but Milan have only managed one goal against non-Italian opposition in 3 matches.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Under 2.5 goals @ 2.10

Prices correct at time of writing.
