Tottenham v Liverpool Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Saturday 27th August by @SC457

Tottenham v Liverpool – White Hart Lane at 12:30 live on Sky Sports 1

Fans and Asian Handicap betting punters will agree, Tottenham vs Liverpool this Saturday lunchtime is a great way to kick off the weekend. The two hopeful ‘title contenders’ will battle it out at White Hart Lane in what I expect to be a low scoring affair.

The hosts have started the season fairly well, picking up four points from a possible 6. They opened with a 1-1 draw at Goddison Park before nicking a 1-0 home win against Crystal Palace.

Spurs are certainly not in full flow yet, but the signs are promising. Victor Wanyama looks a great addition to the midfield and their defence looks as strong as it did last season.

Eric Dyer continues to impress in front of the back four and despite Liverpool’s attacking prowess, top scores in the league in 2016 (45), Tottenham could well shut the Reds out in this one.

Going forward, the Lilywhites need some improvement. Harry Kane is a notoriously slow starter, having never scored in 9 August Premier League fixtures. Knowing that they are weak going forward, Pochettino will look to his defence to ensure they avoid defeat.

Under Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool continue to offer some value on the road against the leagues best sides. Under his tutelage, they have defeated Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal on the road. Against weaker sides though, they struggle.

The Reds opened their campaign in an exciting encounter at the Emirates, defeating Arsenal 4-3. The Gunners were weak at the back though and Spurs will provide a sterner test.

That win against Arsenal was then followed up by a 2-0 defeat to Burnley, further highlighting their weakness at the back. Liverpool have now conceded their last 5 shots on target.

Liverpool remain unpredictable and Tottenham strong at the back.

At first glance, Spurs’ price of 2.36 looks a bit big, but, head to head, it’s Liverpool that are the form side. Winning 5 of their last 7 league meetings, drawing the other two. Liverpool look a bit of value +0.25 on the Asian Handicap betting market at 1.91.

For my recommendation though, I’m turning to the Asian goal line. Both have the attributes to make this a high scoring affair, but being early on in the season, I think both would happily settle to a point from this fixture.

I’m anticipating the defences and midfielders to run this match and Under 2.75 offers some real value at 1.91.

These two managers faced each other twice in the league last season. Both matches ended in draws, 0-0 and 1-1, and a similar result is on the cards here.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Under 2.75 at 1.91
