Real Sociedad v Real Betis Asian Handicap Preview – Sunday 1st October

Real Sociedad v Real Betis – Anoeta, Donostia at 11:00 Live at Sky Sports

Real Sociedad slipped to a third straight La Liga loss last Sunday night in a thrilling encounter at home to Valencia. The Basques were caught out on the counter-attack and are conceding goals at an alarming rate – in five of their first seven games across all the competitions, La Real have leaked at least two goals.

Eusebio Sacristan’s men are on Europa League duty in Zenit St Petersburg on Thursday night and the extra inconvenience of travel could potentially hinder their progress further. Nevertheless, I’m focusing on goals for their next domestic outing against Real Betis.

Sociedad the great entertainers

Sociedad has been La Liga’s entertainers thus far. No team has been involved in more goals per-game than the Basques with an average of 4.33 per-game, with an even split of 13 goals scored and conceded.

Unsurprisingly, all six have produced successful Over 2.5 Goals selections with four breaking the Over 3.5 Goals barrier. Considering a healthy 9/22 (41%) of La Real’s home matches at Anoeta have featured four goals or more since the start of last season, backing another goal-heavy contest appeals.

In-form Real Betis

Visitors Real Betis bagged a famous victory at Real Madrid in their most recent away day but their 1-0 triumph saw the Andalusians well beaten on all the major performance data metrics. Quique Setien’s side might have been fortunate to pick up the points but the match itself could and should have seen goals galore.

Still, Los Verdiblancos are in decent nick going forward now. The guests have notched seven goals in their last three fixtures, all of which ended in victory.

The three points earned at the Bernabeu might have been only Betis’ third success in 17 on their travels but the visitors have at least scored in 12 of those tussles and seen 10 feature three goals or more. Interestingly too, six went on to surpass the Over 3.5 Goals marker.

The betting angle

With Sociedad in action on Thursday and with key defender Inigo Martinez sidelined, Betis will fancy their chances of causing an upset at Anoeta. But the better bet might be to back Over 3 Goals at 2.190.

Backing this selection would see our stake returned should exactly three goals be scored on Sunday morning with profit made should four or more be netted. The only way in which we lose our money is if two goals or fewer are notched.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Over 3 Goals at 2.190
