Serie A Asian Handicap Betting Season Review – Thursday 4th June

Serie A Winners – Juventus

Coppa Italia Winners – Juventus

With the 2014/15 Serie A season in the history books, we take a quick look back at which teams were good options for Asian handicap betting punters this past season.

There is only one place to start with Italian football at the moment, that is with four time Champions Juventus, who strolled to their 31st league title by 17 points.

New manager Max Allegri’s debut season in charge of La Vecchica Signora could not have gone any better, as they claimed a domestic double when beating Lazio in the Coppa Italia Final and now face Barcelona in the Champions League Final with both clubs chasing a treble!

Juventus were almost perfect at home in Serie A with just six points dropped from a possible 57 over their 19 matches in front of their own fans. But, that form included just ten victories of two or more goals because they are not as prolific a side as other big clubs around Europe.

On the road they won just five games by two or more goals, so there were opportunities to take them on when they played away from Turin.

The two Rome clubs trailed in behind Juventus in the title race and Roma in particular made very hard work of their campaign, especially since the turn of the year when they drew a staggering eight out of nine league matches!

By the end of the season Roma had failed to pick up maximum points in exactly half of their Serie A matches, which would have made them a great choice to oppose on Asian handicap markets. This opportunity is highlighted by their record of just one away win by two or more goals all season.

Rafa Benitez has already joined Real Madrid and his final year at Napoli will not be one which he looks back on fondly. But, they provided some tasty profits for Asian handicap punters along the way! Napoli failed to win in 12 of their 19 away games, even four of the bottom six teams took points off the Gill Azzurri when on their travels.

Needless to say that backing the underdogs on the Asian lines against Napoli this season would have paid off handsomely.

Another team who were well worth backing this year, was Sampdoria. They proved to be a very tough nut to crack and backing them with a +0.5 handicap would have returned a profit in an astonishing 30 out of 38 games in the 2014/15 season!

Only Roma and champions Juventus were beaten less times than Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side, with that type of foundation to build upon and if they can add a few more goals to the team, things will really be looking up for Sampdoria next season.

Finally, newly promoted Empoli held their own in Serie A this year and despite finishing down in 15th place, they were only beaten 12 times. When you consider that 3rd place Lazio lost 11 matches this season, it is clear that Empoli were very difficult to beat.

Backing the little team from Florence with a +0.5 Asian handicap would have given you a profit in 26 of 38 league games and you would have got a decent price in most of those games. Especially at Roma, Fiorentina, Napoli and AC Milan who all failed to beat them.
