Sao Paulo v America MG Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Sunday 10th July by @LewisJones1992

Sao Paulo v America MG – Cícero Pompeu de Toledo Stadium at 20:00

On Sunday we’ll be taking a look at the fixture between two more struggling sides as giants Sao Paulo host newly promoted America MG in Serie A.

Since regaining promotion to Serie A after a successful season in the Brazilian second division last year, America MG have struggled to get to grips with the quality on show in the top flight, hence the reason that they’re currently languishing at the bottom of the table.

With four defeats on the spin and no goals to show for their efforts in those games, you can see why the America MG faithful are so concerned that this could end up becoming a woeful campaign in which they’re cut off from start to finish.

During their last game away to Atletico PR, you could see why America MG are already looking cut off from the rest of the league. Their apparent lack of a centre forward and also a creative midfielder makes it hard for them to create any real goal scoring opportunities, hence why they’ve only scored nine goals in their thirteen league fixtures thus far.

Sao Paulo will be looking to break out of their own bad run of form as they currently sit in mid table. After SPs miserable performance in mid week which saw them fall to a 0-2 defeat at home at Atletico Nacional it’s left the club on the verge of being eliminated from this seasons Copa Libertedores.

Jonathan Calleri is leading the line for Sao Paulo at the moment after the club failed to renew the loan deal with Corinthians to bring Alexandre Pato back to the club, Other than Centurion and Alan Kardec, who as failed to perform this season, Sao Paulo don’t have the forward power to blow teams away like they have in previous years when they owned the likes of Luis Fabiano.

Both these sides are out of sorts at the moment and it’s going to be a scrappy game especially with MG looking to defend and hold on for a point from the offset. I expect Sao Paulo to dominate the ball but not create many goal scoring chances.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Under 2.5 goals at 1.86
