Tottenham v Aston Villa Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Monday 2nd November by @SC457

Tottenham v Aston Villa – White Hart Lane at 20:00 live on Sky Sports 1

Spurs head into tonight’s match with Aston Villa still unbeaten since the opening day of the season. The Villains are bottom of the Premier League table following a poor start to the campaign which led to Sherwood’s sacking last weekend. Whether Villa have a new manager confirmed or not by this evening, it’s hard to see them picking up any points at the Lane.

Remy Garde is expected to sign a three and a half year deal today and will watch the match from the stands, watching his new side take on one of the in-form teams in the BPL.

Tottenham have now won 4, drawn 2 of their last 6 league games including last weekend’s 5-1 win over Bournemouth and a 4-1 win over Man City at the end of September.

5 draws from their last 9 games has prevented them from being in a better position but the wins over Bournemouth and City prove that things are starting to click with Pochettino’s young side.

They are one of the most hardworking teams in the Premier League, playing a high pressing game and look to win the ball back as quickly as possible. Against a VIlla team lacking confidence, Spurs will cause them to make mistakes and even at 1.45 they look good value to bring home all 3 points.

Villa haven’t won in the league since their opening 1-0 defeat of Bournemouth and are on a run of 6 straight defeats. With just 4 points accumulated from a possible 30, they sit 4 points from safety, Remy Garde has one hell of a job on his hands.

Aston Villa’s real problem lies in their attack, just 9 goals in 10 games and against the league joint best defence, I don’t see them scoring tonight. They have won just once in their last 6 visits to White Hart Lane and have managed just 2 goals in that stretch.

Spurs lost in their last meeting between the two but that was at the end of last season, when they had nothing to play for whilst Villa were battling relegation. Prior to that defeat, Tottenham had won 9 and drawn 3 in their last 12 encounters.

Caretaker boss Kevin MacDonald will get some sort of response but against a Spurs side who have been very clinical of late, as well as being tight at the back, this should be another comfortable win for the Lilywhites.

I’m struggling to see how Villa can score so backing Tottenham on the Asian Handicap betting market -1.5 at 2.25 is great value and a better a option than Over 2.5 at 1.84.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Tottenham -1.5 at 2.25
