Swansea v Manchester City Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Sunday 17th May

Swansea v Manchester City – The Liberty Stadium at 13:30 live on Sky Sports 1

Two cracking games live on TV today for Asian handicap betting punters to hunt out more profit from before the season ends. First up Wilfried Bony’s return to South Wales.

Swansea under Gary Monk have been an absolute credit to their club and the Premier League, with originally nothing but league position money and pride to play for they produced, perhaps their best form of season as they welcome Manchester City to South Wales on the back of three game winning streak, which could end with them qualifying for European football next season.

The most impressive victory of the three was obviously the 1-0 win at Arsenal on Monday night, which handed today’s opponents a huge advantage in their personal race with the Gunners to finish in second place behind champions Chelsea.

Arsene Wenger will be quietly praying that Swansea can inflict a similar fate on City this afternoon to re-ignite their hopes of claiming second place. With just six points left to play for and a potential Europa League spot up for grabs, Swansea have their own reasons to go all out against City today.

Rumours were rife last week as Twitter jumped on speculation that Man City were closing in on a deal with Pep Guardiola, for the Spaniard to take over from Manuel Pellegrini at the end of the season.

As it turned out the rumours were just that and Pep has against reiterated that he will be at Bayern Munich next season. However, the saying goes ‘there is no smoke without fire’ and with Pellegrini’s failure to take City on to the next level in the Champions League combined with their limp Premier League title defence, it would not be a shock to see him replaced this summer.

The club surely realise that their squad needs to be rebuilt and with huge sums of money likely to be spent on new younger players, do they trust Pellegrini to manage the rebuilding process for the medium term or is a clean slate needed at management level too?

To their credit City are finishing the season in fine style with four wins on the spin, they are in prime position to edge out Arsenal for second place. Sergio Aguero has been scoring for fun and it is a complete mystery how he did not make the Premier League team of the season.

During this four game run the Citizens have scored twelve goals and conceded just two, but they have had some troubles when playing away against teams of a similar level to Swansea. They lost a West Ham and Crystal Palace, plus a draw at Everton should all give Swansea hope that they can upset the odds on Sunday.

In terms of the Asian handicap betting line our algorithm shows that there is no real value in the main 0.75 line, so we will turn to the Asian handicap total goals market where there is a slice of value to get involved with.

As stated City are in great goal scoring form, plus with an average of 1.94 goals per game on the road and Arsenal breathing down their necks they will be looking to attack Swansea throughout. However, Monk has shown that he is prepared to ‘park the bus’ in order to pick up points and the tactic served them well last week at Arsenal.

Hopefully, he will want his team to show a little more of their attacking abilities on Sunday because a win could potentially push Swansea up to sixth place if other results have gone their way. Combine that with it being their last home match of the season and we have to back the overs in this one.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Over 2.75 Goals at 1.86
