Tottenham v Newcastle Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Sunday 13th December by @SC457

Tottenham v Newcastle – White Hart Lane at 16:00 live on Sky Sports 1

Things can’t get much better for Tottenham at the moment and I expect them to continue as they welcome Newcastle to White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Spurs have suffered just one defeat in 15 Premier League games, which came against Man Utd on the opening day of the season. Since then they have Won 6 and drawn 8 which puts them in 5th place just 3 points behind Utd in 4th.

Tottenham fans have been frustrated in recent years, pushing for a top 4 finish and a return to the Champions League, only to fall short towards the end of the season. There is a real sense of belief this year though due to the way they are playing. Full of confidence, high pressing, with a young and extremely fit team.

They qualified top of their Europa League group on Thursday, thrashing Monaco 4-1 so will come into this match full of confidence.

They will see this match as one they should and need to win after their last 2 league matches ended in draws. With 8 already this term they need to turn the draws into 3 points otherwise they could tail off as the season continues.

They are unbeaten at the lane, winning 4, drawing 4 and haven’t conceded more than one goal since their 2-2 with Stoke in August.

Pochettino’s side have won 3 of their last 4 at the lane and all by 2 goals or more, covering the Asian Handicap betting line set for Sunday of -1.5.

Newcastle still remain in the bottom three, even after last weekend’s surprise 2-0 win over an in-form Liverpool side.

Liverpool were not the side we’ve come to know under Jurgen Klopp but the Magpies took full advantage of an inept Reds performance.

Newcastle have certainly showed some fight this season but they still lack structure and discipline as well as any real quality from their squad, with the exception of Girginio Wjnaldum who has scored 7 and assisted 2 this term.

The Magpies are huge underdogs for this one and rightly so when you see that 69% of their points this season and 81% of their goals have been scored at home.

They have now won just one in fourteen on the road, conceding 35 times, scoring just 5.

Spurs are a short priced favourite at 1.40, but the value is still with them -1.5 on the Asian Handicap betting market at 2.09.

There last 3 wins at home have all covered the line and Newcastle have lost 5 from 7 road matches by 2 or more.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Tottenham -1.5 at 2.09

Prices correct at time of writing.
