Tippeligaen Asian Handicap Betting Preview – 8th/9th August by @ChrisOgle2

Sarpsborg 08 v Viking & Haugesund v Aalesunds

This weekend sees round 19 in the Norwegian Tippilaegen and Saturday’s first highlighted game sees Sarpsborg 08 host Viking.

Sarpsborg 08 have had a rough time of it this summer after an initially decent start to the season. Geir Bakke’s men have managed only 3 points in their last 8 games and although credit has to be given to the way they took on Rosenborg last week, leading for much of the game, they still ultimately shipped 3 goals to the table toppers and registered another defeat. They have failed to score in nearly half of their outing this season, by far the worst record in the league, and relegation is now looming large on the horizon with the visit of Viking unlikely to provide any solace.

Viking come into the game off the back of a 1-0 home defeat from Haugesund. This masks the true story of the game however where for the majority of the 90 minutes, Viking were the better team missing a couple relatively simple chances and only conceding a freak own goal.

Prior to that they have been an entertaining and largely quality team to watch. Never short of a dull moment and their ability to find the back of the net (averaging nearly 2 goals a game) warrants then as a constant threat. Their ability to get the job done away from home is another large positive, currently holding the 3й best away from home record in the league.

The initial line on the game sees Sarpsborg 08 set as initial 0.25 goal favourites. This appears to have over emphasised the home team advantage in this match and with the cavalier attitude of the away team (only 1 draw in 18), take the better value in the -0.5 market for Viking at 2.8.

The highlight of Sundays betting markets sees Aalesunds head down the coast to face Haugesund. As highlighted in the above preview, Haugesund were a little fortunate to log a 1-0 win against Viking, and have a tendency to set up in a much more defensive, some might say negative formation when away from home.

Back at the Haugesund Stadium, expect more of an attacking formation, and therefore, expect goals. One thing you can say about Aalesunds on their travels, is they will ship. With close to 3 goals conceded on average away from home and never keeping a clean sheet yet this season, it’s rarely a quiet day for the Tango defence. 7 of the last 8 Aalesunds fixtures saw both teams score and with Haugesund lining up in a more positive formation going for the kill, there will be opportunities at both ends.

I had the goals line set at 3.0/3.5. With an opening mark of 2.5/3.0, the play for Sunday has to be going over in this match.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Back Viking -0.5 to beat Sarpsborg 08 at 2.8

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Back over 2.75 goals at 1.95 Haugesund vs Aalesunds
