Tottenham v Everton Asian Handicap Preview – Sunday 5th March by @DarkDyson

Tottenham v Everton – White Hart Lane at 13:30 live on Sky Sports 1

This weekend I have a tasty looking Sunday afternoon match-up for my Premier League Asian Handicap preview.

As the race for Champions League qualification intensifies every week, Tottenham face a tough game against an in form Everton side.

Tottenham…

Mauricio Pochettino’s team have been nothing short of immense in front of their own fans this season.

A record of W11 D2 L0 with GF30 and GA5, would strike fear into any team visiting the lane over the last months of the season.

Liverpool and strangely Leicester City are the only sides to come away with anything from this half of North London.

Spurs recent historical record at home reads, W40 D14 L14 and they average 1.78 goals per game during this time. In terms of goals conceded, they average just 0.98 over these 68 matches.

However, this season they are outperforming those averages by some distance.

The average number of home goals conceded in the Premier League is currently 1.21, while Spurs only concede 0.38 per home game!

Plus, their average of 2.31 goals per home game is far superior to the league average of just 1.60.

Pochettino does have slight injury concerns about Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Harry Kane. Although, all three are still expected to be passed fit before the match tomorrow, while Danny Rose will not.

Everton…

This week Ronald Koeman has been linked with Barcelona, as a possible replacement for the departing Luis Enrique.

While, that would seem quite unlikely, the Dutchman certainly seems to have the Toffee’s going in the right direction.

However, their away form this season still leaves a lot to be desired, with a record of W4 D4 L5 and GF15, GA17.

Even more worrying is the fact that they have only beaten one team currently in the top 14 of the league, away from home.

In terms of recent history, the Toffee’s have W22 D21 L25 and on average they score only 1.20 goals per road trip. Goals conceded on the road in these 68 games averages out at 1.32 per match.

This season they are almost bang on their longer term averages, but are actually scoring slightly less this season so far.

At least Koeman has no injury concerns coming into this game and he will surely need his best eleven to have any chance at White Hart Lane.

Asian Handicap prices…

The hosts are obviously strong favourites to win this match and can be backed at 2.12 on the -1 Asian Handicap line.

In terms of goals, the Asian Total Goals market has a line of 2.75 with Overs currently available to back at 2.03.

Spurs have won six home games by two or more goals already this season, but despite Everton’s poor away record, they have only lost once by more than a single goal on the road.

If Spurs are missing two or three key players, then this could become a very tricky match for Pochettino’s team.

But, indications are that they could all be fit and so it is hard to see anything other than a home win tomorrow.

There is not a huge amount of value in the markets but with Everton on form, I think they will at least compete with Spurs.

If both Alderweireld and Vertonghen are fit, but Kane is not, then Under 2.5 Goals would be a solid option too.

Asian Handicap Recommendation: Tottenham -0.75 at 1.83
