Штутгарт - Вольфсбург - предварительный просмотр ставок на Азиатский гандикап - суббота, 19 декабря, @MarkOHaire

Stuttgart v Wolfsburg – Mercedes-Benz Arena at 17:30 live on BT Sport 1

Rock-bottom Stuttgart missed another opportunity to move out of the Bundesliga relegation zone as they were held to a goalless draw by Mainz last Friday night.

The unfancied Swabians enjoyed the best goalscoring opportunities in the first-half despite surrendering the majority of possession; Alexandru Maxim was denied by Loris Karius, Lukas Rupp hit a post and Timo Werner had a goal ruled out for offside.

Cat Przemyslaw Tyton was called into action more regularly after the interval as Stuttgart failed to threaten Karius’ goal again with both teams settling for a point apiece.

For VFB, it was a second successive stalemate following their 1-1 draw with Werder Bremen but does mark as an improvement since Alexander Zorniger was sacked. The club are still searching for a new permanent head coach but interim boss Jurgen Krammy’s made a positive impact.

Excluding their 4-1 walloping to a rampant Dortmund, the Swabians’ often headless and gung-ho approach to games has been softened. Now Stuttgart are focussing on keeping their sheets clean before going on the ultra offensive, and so it may pay to oppose a goal-heavy game when Wolfsburg visit.

The Wolves have netted a league-low three goals on the road (W1-D3-L3) failing to score in four of those seven contests. Six of Dieter Hecking’s men seven away contests have featured two or fewer goals and the inconsistent Lower Saxony side can’t be trusted to brush aside Stuttgart here.

Last weekend Wolfsburg failed to get the better of their northern rivals Hamburg in a 1-1 draw at the Volkswagen Arena. Nicolai Muller had given HSV a deserved lead early on, but Wolfsburg eventually took charge of the game and found an equaliser through Maximilian Arnold 12 minutes from time.

Despite their efforts, the Wolves were unable to find a winner as they dropped points at home for the second game running. It was also the sixth occasion in 10 that Hecking’s troops have failed to record a win.

On their travels, Wolfsburg have W3-D3-L5 in all competitions with victories coming at CSKA Moscow, newly-promoted Darmstadt and lower-league Stuttgarter Kickers in the DFB Pokal back in August. Eight of those 11 have featured fewer than three goals so Under 3 Goals stands out at 1.83.

Stuttgart’s 16 Bundesliga fixtures have produced 55 goals but four of their seven at the Mercedes-Benz arena have fallen below the 2.5 goals line and with their attacking instincts curbed in recent weeks, it could pay to go against the goals grain at the Mercedes-Benz Arena on Saturday evening.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Under 3 Goals at 1.83
