Tottenham v West Ham Asian Handicap Preview – Saturday 19th November by @SC457

Tottenham v West Ham – White Hart Lane at 17:30 live on BT Sport 1

White Hart Lane will be the focus for my second Asian Handicap preview this Saturday, as Tottenham host West Ham in the Premier League. Both teams are in need of a win and we should be in for a fiercely contested match.

Tottenham

It’s been a bit of a strange start to the season for Spurs, winning just 5 of their opening 11 league matches. They are the only team to remain unbeaten in the division, but 6 draws has left them in 5th place, 5 points behind Liverpool in first.

You could argue that the European football has slowed the progress somewhat of Pochettino’s side, as they aren’t looking as strong as they did last year when they were considered as serious title contenders.

There is still a long way to go, but the Liilywhites haven’t won since their 2-0 win over Man City back at the beginning of October. Their winless run now extends seven matches in all competitions.

On a positive note, their home form has been good in the league, taking 11 points from a possible 15. However, goals have been hard to come by, only managing to score more than one goal at the Lane once in those 5 matches.

The absence of Harry Kane was certainly felt, but last season’s top goal scorer is back and netted from the spot against Arsenal last week.

West Ham

The Hammers have had a difficult start to their campaign after last years impressive season. They are currently in 17th place on just 11 points from 11 games, however, it’s very tight in the bottom half with just 4 points separating them and eighth place.

West Ham lost 5 of their first 6 EPL matches and have had a tough time settling into their new stadium. Their fortunes seemed to be changing, putting together 3 wins on the spin in all competitions, including a 2-1 4th round EFL Cup victory over Chelsea.

They were brought back down to earth by Everton, losing 2-0 before only managing a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Stoke last time out.

The Irons’ away form will do nothing for their confidence coming into this London derby, having lost 4 of their opening 5 road matches this season.

They have the ability, especially in attack to change things around, but there is still too much on the shoulders of Dimitri Payet.

They have drawn just 2 blanks this season in the league and against a weaker Tottenham defence than last year, they have a good chance of getting on the score sheet and keeping this one closer than the prices suggest.

Asian Handicap & Total Goals

Tottenham are rightfully favourites here but with a win percentage of just 45%, and without one in 7, the 1.50 on offer for a home win is not very appealing.

West Ham have lost 80% of their away matches this season. Three of their 4 losses have been by 2 goals or more so with the Азиатская фора line at 1.25 for this match, I’m not confident in backing the visitors at 1.85 on this market either.

Looking at the goals market, there are conflicting arguments that support backing both unders and overs.

82% of Spurs matches this season have gone Under 2.5 goals. They have scored in every home game and West Ham have scored an average of a goal per game on the road this season, drawing just one blank. The Hammers have also conceded in 4 of their five away matches.

I’m leaning towards Overs, but cannot get on board at 1.75.

So, instead, for this match, I’m recommending Both Teams to Score at 1.94. Tottenham and West Ham are in need of a win and I think this could be a bit of scrappy affair. Without Alderweireld, Spurs aren’t as assured at the back and West Ham have conceded an average of 1.81 goals per game this season.

Betting Recommendation: Both Teams to Score at 1.94
