Sevilla v Leganes Asian Handicap Preview – Saturday 28th October

Sevilla v Leganes – Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán at 21:30 Live at Sky Sports

Sevilla head coach Eduardo Berizzo is under increasing pressure to put the Andalusians back on track with Los Rojiblancos enduring a nightmare run of results. In the space of a week, last season’s fourth-placed finishes were beaten by Athletic Bilbao, Spartak Moscow, and Valencia by a combined 10-1.

A 1-0 beating in the Basque Country was unfortunate but the way in which Sevilla disintegrated during the final quarter of their Champions League contest in Moscow to lose 5-1 raised serious question marks. And Los Rojiblancos failed to quell criticism when suffered a 4-0 hammering by Valencia last time out.

Sevilla’s dreadful recent run

It means Saturday night’s hosts have now fallen to four defeats in six outings when excluding the Copa del Rey with Berizzo’s constant tinkering under the spotlight. Even a 2-0 triumph at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan against rock-bottom – and pointless – Malaga was unconvincing.

Indeed, the hosts have racked up only three goals when welcoming La Liga’s two worst defenses – Malaga and Las Palmas – across their last two home outings with Sevilla scoring just twice in their last four league fixtures. Berizzo’s boys also have a crucial Champions League tie to prepare for on Wednesday.

Leganes upsetting the odds

Leganes head coach Asier Garitano joked before his team’s encounter with Athletic Bilbao that his side didn’t deserve to be favorites. But Claudio Beauvue’s goal gave the Cucumber Growers a wonderful 1-0 victory to continue their remarkable start to the campaign.

Admittedly, Leganes have only faced one top-half team but even so, the guests well-drilled rear-guard has kept seven clean sheets already, leaked only three goals – two of which were long-range strikes – and faced the fewest efforts on-target.

The Cucumber Growers haven’t conceded a goal since mid-September and have already picked up 10 points from a possible 12 on their travels. It’s no fluke, either – the visitors are third in terms of xG and xG from open play in Spain, behind Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The betting angles

Although Sevilla boasts a formidable home record, it’s hard to ignore Leganes’ claims of a +1 start on the Asian Handicap line at 1.810 in what’s expected to be a tight and low-scoring battle.

The 1.850 available on Under 2.5 Goals is also recommended. Collectively, these two teams have notched only 17 goals across 18 La Liga matches with 15 of those games returning profit for Unders backers.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendations: Leganes +1 at 1.810 and Under 2.5 Goals at 1.850
