SEVILLA V BARCELONA – RAMON SANCHEZ-PIZJUAN STADIUM AT 20:30 (UTC/GMT)
FC Barcelona are bragging excellent form in Spanish La Liga, being unbeaten in their last eight games.
Last Sunday, they beat Leganes 3-1, and prior to that they also defeated Eibar 3-0. Earlier this month they also scored a 1-2 win over Getafe.
Furthermore, Barcelona did not let their opponents score a single win in their games throughout December. Barca made a 2-0 win over Celta de Vigo, as well as a 0-5 thrashing to Levante. They also hammered Espanyol 0-4. Earlier in the previous month, they also had a 2-0 victory over Villareal.
Barca’s last draw and loss happened on November in the previous year.
In their Copa del Rey campaign, Barcelona only have one defeat out of their four games so far. The loss was a 2-1 fall to Levante last week.
Barca will be visiting Seville on Wednesday hoping to preserve a relatively good form in the Copa.
Sevilla lost twice this month so far in La Liga: one was a 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid last Saturday, and one a 2-0 loss as well to Athletic Bilbao.
Prior to those defeats though, Sevilla has been enjoying a nine-match unbeaten run, including a 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid earlier this month.
– Lionel Messi came off the bench in Barcelona’s match with Legannes, but he is expected to be opted for rest by team coach Ernesto Valverde, and will most likely be out in the starting XI.
– Ben Yedder made a close-range strike at the 37th minute in Sevilla’s recent game with Atletico Madrid and will most likely be part of the starting XI.
– Ousmane Dembele sprained his ankle in Barcelona’s match with Leganes and is expected to be out for 15 days.
– Newly signed Munir El Haddadi is on injury list and is not expected to appear in Sevilla’s match with Barcelona
– Newly signed Kevin-Prince Boateng is expected to be on bench and will not be in Barcelona’s starting XI.
– Nolito is currently suffering from fractures on the fibula shaft and will not play for Sevilla until 12th April this year.

Wissam Ben Yedder plays as centre-forward for Sevilla and is also the top scorer of the team with 16 points out of 30 appearances. He has a goal out of his three appearances in the teams’ Copa del Rey campaign within the season. He also has nine goals out of his 17 appearances in Sevilla’s La Liga campaign.

Sevilla 1-1 Barcelona
Valverde’s plan to put Messi to rest will make a huge impact on Barcelona’s match with Sevilla on Wednesday. Messi played half an hour last Sunday in Barca’s game with Leganes, scoring all three points. With this, one could draw a picture of how Barca will perform and score a goal on Wednesday. Sevilla was left goalless in their last two matches in La Liga, but Los Hispalenses are able to hold Atletico Madrid into a 1-1 draw earlier this month.
