Santa Fe v Corinthians – Estadio El Campín at 01:45
After another couple of wins at the weekend including including a win on Audax -0.50 as they snatched a stoppage time winner against Sao Bento. We also managed to grab a win on Sunday a Palmeiras grabbed a late 1-0 win over Corinthians as we were on under 2.50 goals in the derby.
For Thursday nights game we’ll be heading over to Colombia as Santa Fe host Corinthians in the fifth round of the Copa Libertedores group stages and it’s still all to play for as both qualification places are still up for grabs.
Corinthians make the journey to Colombia sitting at the top of their group after four games with a very respectable nine points to their name. A win here would guarantee the Timao’s qualification to the knock out phases. Corinthians will face Cobresal at home in their last game and they’ll probably go off at 1.15, so you have to imagine they’ll come out with the three points needed in their final fixture.
All the emphasis is on the home side Santa Fe on Thurday as anything other than a victory could potentially see the Colombian’s crash out of the Copa Libertedores. It’s going to be a tight game with these two sides having conceded just five goals between them in the group stages thus far.
In the reverse fixture, Santa Fe had plenty of possession, but they just couldn’t break down the two deep banks of four that Corinthians put in front of them. It was only a Guilherme goal in the second half that gave Corinthians the three points.
Corinthians will come into this game looking to play their usual negative style of play as well as looking to make the most set pieces that Santa Fe tend to struggle with. I’d be shocked if Corinthians had more than 40% possession in this game but as always they’ll be tough to break down.
There won’t be many chances as both sides know a defeat will kill their chances of progressing.
