Wolfsburg v Man Utd Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Tuesday 8th December by @SC457

Wolfsburg v Man Utd – Volkwagen Area at 19:45 live on BT Sport Europe

Man Utd travel to Germany this evening to face Wolfsburg at the Volkswagen arena knowing a win will secure a place in the last 16 and finish as Group B winners. They don’t need to win however, they just have to equal or better PSV’s result against CSKA to make the knock-out stage.

Die Wölfe are currently occupying top spot in the Group and a draw will guarantee them a top two finish and a path into the next round. They may not be the side that finished 2nd in the Bundesliga last term having lost the likes of Kevin De Bruyne over the summer, but they have the quality to hold Utd to at least a draw this evening.

Wolfsburg have lost some cutting edge going forward this season, occasionally struggling for goals but still have some fine talent in Julian Draxler, Max Kruse, Andre Schurrle and Bas Dost who are all quality players.

They have an excellent home record, already defeating CSKA and PSV in the Champions League this season and were unbeaten at the Volkswagen Arena since March until their weekend defeat to Borussia Dortmund.

Man United come into the match on the back of yet another goalless draw, their 5th in their last 9 outings and the criticism is getting louder.

If you were to look solely on their league positions, they are just 3 points off the top of the Premier League after 15 matches and one win away from the last 16 of the Champions League. However, having scored just 7 goals in their last 10 matches in all competitions and the lowest scorers out of the BPL’s top 6 sides, how much longer can they hold their league position?

The Red Devils are unbeaten in their last 10 BPL and UCL matches, but their inconsistent form added to a few injuries, doesn’t make the 3.30 for an away win very appealing.

Looking at the Asian Handicap betting market I’m more confident backing the host -0.25 at 2.05 which I make just a touch of value, however there is more value in the goals market.

Wolfsburg haven’t conceded a goal at home in the competition so far and have kept 5 clean sheets in their last 10 matches. With United struggling for goals themselves and keeping 8 clean sheets from their last 11 outings, Under 2.5 goals at 1.83 looks a great price.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Under 2.5 goals at 1.83
