West Ham v Man City Asian Handicap Preview – Wednesday 1st February by @SC457

West Ham v Man City – London Stadium at 19:45 live on BT Sport 1

For my midweek Premier League Asian Handicap preview, I’ll be focusing on the match at the London Stadium as West Ham host Man City. The Citizens ran out 5-0 winners here in the FA Cup at the beginning of February and although they come into the match without a league win in 2, I think they offer some value to win here.

West Ham

It’s been a difficult season so far for the Hammers. Their first in their new stadium has not gone as well as many would have hoped. West Ham’s form has been inconsistent, already suffering 6 home defeats across all competitions.

When facing the top sides at home, they have been particularly vulnerable, conceding 5 against City and Arsenal and losing by two goals against United.

Another blow came this week with the departure of Dimitri Payet, however since his last appearance the Irons have won back to back league games against Crystal Palace  and Boro, scoring 6 times.

Those wins lifted the Hammers up to 10th in the league and confidence will be high.

Man City

It’s been an inconsistent first season in charge for Pep Guardiola. They currently sit in 5th place, but a win tonight would put them level on points with Liverpool in 4th. London hasn’t been a good place to the Citizens recently though, recording just 4 wins from their last 13 league visits.

City have been fairly successful on the road this season though, winning 7 of their 11 away matches, losing 4. They are the only team in the EPL without an away draw. The four losses came against 3 of the leagues top seven and last season’s champions.

When the Manchester men have faced a side they are expected to beat, they win well. In 8 of their away games this season, they have scored three or more goals, including 3 of their last 5. But only 2 of their 7 away wins have come with a clean sheet.

Asian Handicap

The visitors come into the match as 1.61 favourties which I think offers some value considering their away form against teams outside the top 7 this season. They still suffer from inconsistency though and West Ham have won their last two league games, but this is City’s for the taking.

City are priced at 1.88 -1 on the Asian Handicap market and I expect them to win by at least two goals here.

Asian Handicap Recommendation: Man City -1 at 1.88
