Watford v Man Utd Asian Handicap Preview – Sunday 18th September by @SC457

Watford v Man Utd – Vicarage Road at 12:00 live on BT Sport 1

We have an another entertaining match to look forward to this Sunday as Watford host Man Utd at Vicarage Road. One thing you are guaranteed with the Hornets is goals and this match should be no different. I have found a couple of angles on the Asian Handicap and Total goals markets that will make this a profitable as well as exciting fixture.

Watford – a difficult start

New boss, Walter Mazzarri earned his first win as Watford boss last week against West Ham. His first 3 matches in charge ended in a draw and 2 defeats. Including being knocked out of the EFL Cup by Gillingham.

The way in which they battled back from 2-0 against the Hammers though, shows their fight is still there in abundance. The 4-2 victory earned them their first points since the opening day. But the scheduling wasn’t been kind to them.

Including United on Sunday, they will have faced 4 teams from last years top 7. They also went up against Antonio Conte’s Chelsea, who are vastly improved from last season. A match they narrowly lost, thanks to 2 late goals from the Blues.

Defensively, Watford are poor, having conceded 8 goals in their opening 4 Premier League matches. I expect that figure to rise this Sunday, but they should cause Man Utd some trouble going forward.

They are an attack minded team and have scored in every competitive match so far this term. 7 goals in 4 EPL matches is a good return, especially against the opponents they’ve faced.

It’s another daunting task for the Hornets, and despite having an almost fully fit squad, I don’t see them getting anything out of this one.

Man Utd – unbalanced but will bounce back

Jose Mourinho suffered his first defeat as Utd boss last week, losing 2-1 in the Manchester derby against his foe, Pep Guardiola. That would have been a bitter pill to swallow for the former Chelsea boss.

That defeat was followed up by another in the Europa League as they went down in their first group match, 1-0 away to Feyenoord. A lot of key players were rested for the trip to the Netherlands, but still a strong starting XI under performed.

There are areas of the United side that still cause concern and Pogba has not settled in to his stride as yet. That being said, it’s early days for the players and the new boss and 9 points from 4 matches is a good start to the season.

Asian Handicap & Total Goals

Utd have not been leading at half time in any of their last 3 matches. However, Watford +0.5 on the Asian Handicap half time market doesn’t offer any value at 1.77. With home advantage, and their attack minded nature, Watford will make this a competitive match. Although I expect them to score, I can only see an away win here.

Despite a short price of 1.66, Utd still offer some value. On the Asian Handicap market with the line at -0.75, they can be backed at 1.87.

Over 2.5 goals edges favouritism on the goals markets which is understandable as Watford’s last 4 matches have seen at least 3 goals. At 1.96, it’s a confident recommendation and another double win is on the cards.

Asian Handicap Recommendation: Man Utd -0.75 at 1.87 & Over 2.5 goals at 1.96
