Veikkausliiga Asian Handicap Preview – Monday 14th September

Inter v VPS – Petri Vuorinen & the Whailers

Inter grabbed a shocking 2-0 win against HJK away, causing the first home loss of the season at Sonera Stadium. Goalie Magnus Bahne had a magnificent game and Sebastian Mannström sealed the deal with a gol dell’ex.

If Inter’s victory was well deserved and convincing, VPS win over Ilves at home was, well, all but convincing. The boys in black and white have found harmony in defense, but offensive ideas are short. Coach Vuorinen acknowledges this, but emphasized the importance of not going for a goal with a too high risk.

Home turf gives a solid advantage to Inter, who lost only twice at Veritas Stadium this year. However, injuries and suspensions balance the situation. Kanakoudis, Lehtovaara, Qvick and Onovo are ruled out. VPS are only lacking Abdulahi and Miheso.

2-3 Jamaicans are expected to start for VPS, which really gives an interesting potential to lethal counter-attacks. Inter’s offense gives value for goals, even though VPS has a somewhat stable defense.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Over 2.25 @ 1.78

KTP v RoPS – Panic in Lapland?

KTP pulled off a surprising fight against Lahti, but returned home unrewarded. Former class striker Babatunde Wusu proved how an old dog never forgets his tricks by scoring in his KTP-debut.

Class striker Eero Markkanen didn’t have an as successful debut for RoPS. The tall striker was subbed in against Jaro, only to miss wide-open chances leaving the score table unchanged. It certainly didn’t help that league leading scorer Aleksandr Kokko has still yet to find his form.

Though Malinen has his team’s defense in top form, it really doesn’t take them far when no one’s scoring. KTP are entering a tough 2 weeks, facing all top 3 teams home and HIFK away. RoPS are offering their best chance to grab full 3 points, which will be highly valued in the end.

KTP are missing Samuli Kaivonurmi, Juho Lehtonen and Aleksi Tarvonen. Sasha Anttilainen is once again a doubt. Midfield magician Moshtagh Yaghoubi is ready to start again after his U-21 national call.

RoPS are on a poor streak, entering a 5th game without a win. KTP need a win or relegation zone will soon be a reality. What is granted is that we’ll end up with panic in either way after this game.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: KTP +0.25 @ 1.89

HIFK v KuPS – Home soil magic?

Sonera Stadium was a safe haven for Helsinki teams HIFK and HJK until last Thursday when Inter grabbed the first away win of the season from Helsinki. While HIFK hasn’t exactly been celebrating with home wins, it hasn’t lost even once yet.

From KuPS and HIFK’s last meeting, nothing’s really changed for the Savonian side. Rajamäki’s squad is simply cruising rest of the season from match to match filled with the dull feeling of whatever. HIFK has a bit more to play for, as the board has announced top 6 as their goal, which lies 6 points ahead.

Tommi Vesala is suspended for HIFK, otherwise no significant losses in either squad. A visiting team with a great goalie and a lackluster offensive force against a well-balanced, but in all honesty a really modest home team gives great value for a match short on goals.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Under 2.5 @ 1.74
