Stoke v Man City Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Saturday 5th December by @SC457

Stoke v Man City – Britannia Stadium at 12:45 live on BT Sport 1

Man City travel to the Britannia Stadium this Saturday lunchtime looking for another 3 points to keep them at the top of the table. Stoke have not lived up to expectations so far and will be looking for a big scalp to kick start their season.

After their best season in the Premier League last term, the Potters were expected to be a serious contender for a European spot this time round but it looks unlikely on their form so far.

Stoke currently sit in 12th after 5W-4D-5L from their opening 14 matches. They added some real talent to the squad over the Summer, but even with the likes of Bojan Krkic and Xherdan Shaqiri they have struggled for goals, scoring just 2 in their last 4 league matches.

They have won 3 of their last 4 matches in all competitions, including a midweek victory over Sheffield Wednesday in the league cup which booked them a place in the semi final and will boost their confidence.

The Britannia is not the fortress it once was though and 63% of Stoke’s points have been earned on the road. The Potters have conceded at least once in 83% of their home fixtures, averaging just 0.83 goals per game themselves. Against a City defence that should be welcoming back Joe Hart and Vincent Kompany, the hosts will struggle to break down the Citizens.

Man City bounced back well to their 4-1 defeat to Liverpool, defeating Southampton 3-1 last weekend in the BPL before thrashing Hull 4-1 in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday making the semi final. Kevin De Bruyne in particular has been in scintillating form with 3 goals and 2 assists in his last two matches.

City’s defence has been better away from home this term, keeping clean sheets in 83% of their matches, conceding just 0.67 goals per game. At the other end they have been scoring freely, 30 goals in 14 games so far.

The visitors ran our 4-1 winners in this fixture back in February and I’m expecting another comfortable win for Manuel Pellegrini’s side this time. They haven’t won on the road in their last 3 league matches and will looking for a convincing win on Saturday to put some distance and pressure on the chasing pack.

I don’t expect Stoke to score and can see City winning this by 2 or more. Backing Man City -1 on the Asian Handicap betting market at 2.22 is real value and my recommendation for this one.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Man City -1 at 2.22
