Sao Paulo v Vasco Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Sunday 18th October by @LewisJones1992

Sao Paulo v Vasco – Morumbi stadium at 19:00

Copa Libertedores chasing Sao Paulo play host to relegation threatened Vasco who are quickly running out of games to save their skin with regards to staying up.

Vasco are currently five points from safety and should Joinville pick up three points on Saturday evening against Figuereinse, the Rio based side would find themselves routed to the bottom of the table come kick off Sunday evening.

Sao Paulo keeper Rogerio Ceni will wear the number 25 shirt to represent his 25 years served with this great club and with the shot stopper retiring at the end of the season he’ll be keen to get his final goal for the club. Ceni has been fantastic on free kicks and penalties all through his career and with the amount of set pieces that Vasco give away it will be a great chance for the Sao Paulo legend to add to his 100+ goals.

Rio based giants Vasco are unbeaten in all compeitions in their last four games including one Copa do Brasil match and three Serie A games, their main issue is that they’ve only won one of these games drawing the other three 1-1.

There are virtually seven teams battling it out for the fourth Copa Libertedores place and Sao Paulo will be looking to overlap their fierce rivals Santos who currently occupy fourth position on Sunday evening.

Although their known for their free flowing attacking football over the previous years especially at home you have to appreciate how well Sao Paulo have defended this season. They’ve conceded just once in their previous five home games, drawing twice and winning on three of those occasions.

You have to go back to the opening month of the season for Sao Paulo to have less than 58% possession in a home game and should they continue in that vein against Vasco you have to think that the creativity of Ganso will create plenty of chances against the leagues worst side.

I’m more than happy to back Sao Paulo to cover the Asian Handicap and I think the worst result for us here would be a money back void.

Bet recommendation: Sao Paulo -1.00 at 1.96

Prices correct at the time of writing.
