West Ham v Man City – Upton Park at 17:30 live on Sky Sports 1
West Ham welcome title favourites Man City to Upton Park this Saturday evening and are becoming something of a bogey team for the Citizens. The Hammers go into the game rightfully as underdogs but are the value bet on the Asian Handicap betting market.
Slaven Bilic has already seen his side defeat City at the Etihad, 2-1 earlier this season thanks to goals from Victor Moses who has just returned form injury and Diafra Sakho, who still remains sidelined.
West Ham also defeated the Citizens in the corresponding fixture last season, also 2-1, but that was when Pellgrini’s side were far from their best, experiencing a dip in form. Whilst Man City are just a point behind leaders Arsenal, their away form has left much to be desired this term.
If it wasn’t for their record of just 4 wins in 12 matches on the road this campaign, they could be clear at the top at this stage instead of in third.
West Ham will provide City with a tough test this Saturday and look too big to me at 5,36 considering they lost their first league game in 10 last weekend and haven’t lost in 8 at home. Last week’s defeat to Newcastle was down to a slow start, 2-0 within 15 minutes and they won’t make the same mistake on Saturday.
Man City looked impressive against Crystal Palace last time out, defeating the Eagles 4-0 at home. They haven’t won back to back matches since beating Newcastle and Bournemouth at home in early October though and West Ham are great value +0.5 on the Asian Handicap betting market at 2.31.
Despite the Hammers loss last weekend, their has been plenty to admire from the East Londoners this season, and with key players returning from injury, I think they can get something out of this game.
Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: West Ham +0.5 at 2.31
