West Brom V West Ham – FA Cup Betting Preview

The Hawthorns – Saturday 14го February at 12:45 live on BT Sport 1

After the carnage in the previous round this match is one of only three all Premier League ties in the FA Cup but with three more top division sides getting knocked out this weekend, we could see another lower division club make it to the final this year.

West Brom have already faced West Ham at home in the Premier League and despite taking an early lead they were 2-1 behind by half time and could not recover the deficit in the second half. They have had a largely disappointing season and dispensed of manager Alan Irvine in late December.

Since taking over the hot seat from Irvine, Tony Pulis has begun to work his magic again and the Baggies have only lost once in seven games under the new manager. The key factor in their upturn in fortunes has been their defence which has only conceded seven goals (three against Spurs) in those seven games.

At the other end Saido Berahino and summer signing Brown Ideye have both found some form, so this match will be much tougher for the Hammers than last time, if Pulis plays a full strength starting eleven on Saturday.

Sam Allardyce has numerous injury concerns coming into the match with Andy Carroll, Guy Demel, James Collins & Winston Reid all out this weekend. Plus, both Kevin Nolan and Mark Noble are serious doubts for the trip to the Midlands.

The Hammers early season form has been faltering of late with just two wins from eight games in all competitions and after their recent exertion in replays and playing with nine men against Southampton, Big Sam will be keen to avoid a draw while his resources are so stretched.

West Ham have been excellent against teams in the bottom half both at home and away, they have only lost 1 in 13 against these sides including the win at the Hawthorns as mentioned earlier but Albion are playing much better now so have the momentum coming into this match.

Tony Pulis has stated what a great opportunity this seasons FA Cup represents to the Baggies and his team will be fired up for a match which if they win, leaves them one game away from a date at Wembley for a Semi Final.

Recommendation: West Brom -0.5 at 2.41 and BTTS Yes at 1.80
