Watford v West Ham – Vicarage Road at 17:30 live on BT Sport 1
The Hornets host West Ham in Saturday evening’s televised game and this clash is the focus of my latest Азиатский гандикап preview.
Watford are a strong home side and as West Ham have been finding the net of late, I recommend backing overs in this one.
The home side have recovered from their bad spell in December and look a much improved team, especially in attacking terms.
January signings such as Tom Cleverley, Mauro Zarate and M’baye Niang have really strengthened the squad and Odion Ighalo’s absence has gone unnoticed since his departure to China.
Defeat in their last Premier League game against Manchester United may have ended their 4 league game unbeaten run, but they will be confident of a result against The Hammers in light of their impressive home form.
Watford have only lost 4 times at Vicarage Road this season, which includes defeats against Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham.
A run of good results has lifted them to 13th in the Premier League table and they are yet to be drawn into a relegation battle.
Defensively, Mazzarri’s side still look a little shaky however and they have conceded 6 goals in their last 4 Premier League matches.
Watford have only failed to score in 2 of their 12 home games this season and I’d back them to get on the scoresheet again.
West Ham have won 3 of their last 4 games on the road and they also look a much improved side, in light of their terrible start to the season.
The visitors drew 2-2 at home to West Brom in their last Premier League game and they are currently 10th in the league table.
The Hammers have scored 11 goals in their last 5 league games, but Andy Carroll is likely to miss out against Watford with a groin strain.
The home side need to be wary of Manuel Lanzini, who scored his 5th goal of the season against West Brom last time out. He is the kind of player who can cause even the best of defences some problems!
Bilic’s side have scored 6 goals in their last 2 away games and I’d expect them to get on the scoresheet again at Vicarage Road.
Asian Handicap Prices and Total Goals
This game is a tough one to call in terms of picking an outright winner. Watford are the favourites to get the win and can be backed -0.5 on the Asian Handicap market at 2.61.
With the result of this game being hard to predict, it’s worth turning our attention to the Asian Total Goals market.
8 of Watford’s 12 home games have seen over 2.5 goals scored and as West Ham have been in the goal-scoring mood themselves of late, I recommend backing over 2.5 goals at 2.05.
Азиатский гандикап Recommendation: Over 2.5 goals @ 2.05
