Valencia v Sevilla Asian Handicap Preview – Saturday 21st October

Valencia v Sevilla – Mestalla at 17:30 Live ay Sky Sports

Valencia finally appears to be back and moving in the right direction following years of frustration, financial problems, fan protests and flattery to deceive.

With Marcelinho in charge, Los Che is one of three undefeated (W5-D3-L0) teams in La Liga so far this season, along with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid despite already facing both Atletico and Real Madrid and tough away trips to Real Sociedad and Real Betis.

Valencia has won each of their last four games, scoring 17 goals in the process to sit second with their last outing – a thrilling 6-3 success at Betis – pushing the Bats into the second spot. At the same stage last season, Los Che had already lost five times and sat just two points above the relegation zone.

Valencia’s rejuvenation

Unpopular president Lay Hoon Chan has left with general director Mateu Alemany arriving to take over the day-to-day running of the club. With a number of bad apples also removed from the dressing room, there’s finally an air of stability and positivity surrounding Valencia with harmony both within Mestalla and the supporters finally in synch.

Marcelinho’s been given the clout to build a team in his own image – fitness obsessed and counter-attacking with pace – and Valencia’s shrewd summer investment has been paying dividends with Goncalo Guedes and Geoffrey Kondogbia particularly impressing.

There’s no better team to watch in Spain right now and their sensational attacking performance – notching at least three goals in each of their last four fixtures – and with no fresh injury concerns make the hosts well worth supporting at 1.98 with a -0.50 Asian Handicap start on Saturday.

Sloppy Sevilla

Visitors Sevilla are residing in fifth and only two points adrift of their hosts but a kind fixture list – six of their eight encounters have come against the current bottom-eight – plus a wretched road record make the guests easily opposable.

Eduardo Berizzo’s boys have suffered defeat in each of their last three games outside of Andalucia, conceding eight goals. Their midweek collapse at CSKA Moscow was hugely concerning, Steven N’Zonzi remains a doubt whilst Sevilla have tended to struggle in Valencia in recent years (W0-D1-L4).

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Valencia 0.50 at 1.98
