UEFA Europa League Betting Previews

Thursday 27го November

Tottenham Hotspur v Partizan Belgrade – 20:05

Tottenham will qualify for the knockout stages this evening with a win over struggling Partizan Belgrade at White Hart Lane. Spurs are justifiably big favourites at a general price of 1.25 with the Serbians already eliminated from the competition.

Emmanuel Adebayor, Younes Kaboul and Etienne Capoue will all miss this one through injury but this shouldn’t affect the North Londoners performance with players such as Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen shining in the Europa League this season. Tottenham have scored 8 goals in their 4 matches, with Kane scoring 6 of those. Spurs have not lost in their last 17 Europa League group stage ties and should win comfortably again this evening.

Since the opening group game, where Partizan drew 0-0 with Spurs in Belgrade, the Serbians have lost all 3 of their Europa ties conceding 8 times in the process. With a record of 2 wins in their last 40 ties, and already out of this year’s competition, Partizan only have pride to play for.

With Tottenham scoring 3 or more goals at White Hart Lane in 9 out of their last 14 home Europa League ties, the value bet is to back them to cover their Asian Handicap of -1.75. Tottenham -1.75 @ 1.98.

Celtic v Red Bull Salzburg – 20:05

Red Bull Salzburg travel to Celtic Park on Thursday having already qualified for the last 32 with 3 wins from their 4 group matches. Celtic can qualify and head to the top of the group with a victory, but can also qualify with a draw should Dinamo Zagreb fail to beat Astra Giurgiu.

Celtic welcome back Scott Brown in midfield after suspension but Jason Denayer and Wakaso Mubarak are a doubt. John Guidetti is ineligible and Mikael Lustig is still out. Celtic have made a solid start to their Europa League campaign winning both of their home matches and drawing in their 2 away ties. The Bhoys were unlucky not to beat Salzburg in their opening fixture, twice being ahead, since then Celtic have won 10 from 13 in all competitions.

The Red Bulls are the top scorers in the Europa League after 4 games with 13 goals, they are also sitting top of their domestic league after a strong start to the season. They have won 9 of their last 12 matches in all competitions. Having already qualified, they may be focusing more attention to Sunday when they play Wolfsberger who sit second in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Celtic are strong at home and with qualifying at stake today, I think they should come through this tough test with a win. You can back Celtic @ 3.0, but my advised trade is to back Celtic 0 (Draw No Bet) @ 2.15.
