Предварительный просмотр матча ПСЖ - Монако - 12 января воскресенье

PSG v Monaco – Le Parc des Princes at 20:00 GMT at BT Sport

PSG enjoyed a seven-point advantage atop of Ligue 1 at Christmas, with a game in-hand to boot. Thomas Tuchel’s troops have taken top honours in all bar three of their 18 league encounters with 11 of their 15 triumphs arriving via a two-goal margin or more as the capital club continue their domestic dominance.

No European outfit enjoys such a stranglehold such as Les Parisiens. PSG boast a 79% Expected Goals (xG) ratio ranking in the French top-flight with their ratio return hitting 82% on the xG metric when only viewing opportunities arising from open play – that’s more than 20% more than their closest rival.

Three of Les Rouge et Bleu’s top-five rivals have been to the Parc des Princes already this term – all three departed pointless, without scoring, and having been beaten by at least two-goals – and so backing Tuchel’s charges to repeat the feat holds plenty of appeal at generous 1.72 quotes on Sunday night.

Monaco making slow progress

Visitors Monaco made a tumultuous start to the season, continuing their malaise from 2018/19. The principality club failed to triumph in their first six fixtures to be rooted to the relegation places before finally arresting their slump with an upsurge in performances and results from mid-October onwards.

The arrival of Robert Moreno in the dugout before the year was out was supposed to escalate the revival. The Spaniard’s first game in charge of Les Monegasques went well with Monaco smashing Lille 5-1 at the Stade Louis II with summer signing Wissam Ben Yedder again taking centre stage.

Moreno used his first week at the helm to get to know the Monaco squad and to get across his coaching philosophy, espousing possession football and a vigorous pressing game. Les Rouges et Blancs have moved away from a five-man defence and are now set to line-up in a more orthodox 4-3-3 system against PSG.

Monaco were overcome by Reims in a recent Coupe de France contest but that hasn’t dampened spirits in the principality with Moreno looking forward to back-to-back encounters with PSG, saying, “We need to keep working, working. PSG want to have the ball, like us. It will perhaps be different to the Reims game.”

He’s not wrong. But whether Les Monegasques have had the time to bed-in their new ideals against a highly-motivated PSG side in the capital remains to be seen and backing the hosts with a -1.5 Asian Handicap is preferred at 1.72 on Sunday.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation : PSG -1.50 at 1.720
