Liberty Stadium – 9го November at 4.00pm.
Arsenal travel to South Wales this Sunday to face a Swansea side sitting just 2 points behind them in the league table. Swansea have caused Arsenal problems since their promotion in 2011 but their recent form, or bad luck and poor referring decisions according to Gary Monk, has been inconsistent of late.
The Swans started the season with 3 wins in their first 3 games, since then they have only managed to add a further 6 points from their last 7 matches. Their first win in 6 came at home to Leicester and have since drawn away to Everton. Swansea will be without suspended Jonjo Shelvey but key man, Wlifred Bony, who has scored 4 times this season can cause Arsenal’s shaky back four problems with his unpredictable movement.
Arsenal’s form seemed to be picking up with three back to back wins until the embarrassing draw in midweek after leading 3-0 to Anderlecht. Although the Gunners defence has been questionable this season, going forward they have been stronger of late with Alexis Sanchez scoring 5 in his last 3. Arsenal will welcome back Jack Wilshere after he missed last weekend’s match with Burnley and the midweek champions league fixture. Theo Walcott is fit enough to start if selected but Mikel Arteta is unavailable after picking up an injury against Anderlecht.
Both these teams love to play the passing game, trying to control possession. Swansea have an impressive 84% pass completion rate, Arsenal have the league’s highest of 86.5%. I expect this to be more open though and with the Over 2.5 goals priced at 2.00 it’s well worth a bet. I believe the real value however to be on Arsenal and the advised trade on this match is ARSENAL -0.25 @ 1.86
