Upton Park – Sunday 7го December at 13:30
West Ham and Swansea have both had fantastic starts to the season sitting 5го and 7го in the league table respectively. Both sides deserve their positions and the high praise they have received so far this season but there is a long way to go.
West Ham’s home record against Swansea is exceptional having won 9 from 11 and drawing 2, their recent home form this season is also impressive. Since their defeats to Tottenham on the opening day of the season and Southampton, they have won 4 drawn 1 at Upton Park including wins over Liverpool, Man City and Newcastle. The Hammers kept up their form even without the likes of Sakho, Song and Valencia who are arguably their stand-out players this season. Valencia should start with Song and Sakho are hopeful to make a return.
Swansea have had their best ever start scoring 22 points from 14 matches in Gary Monk’s first full season in charge. They are playing very well as a team but Wilfred Bony and Gylfi Sigurdsson have to be mentioned for what they have contributed so far this campaign. Between the 2 of them they have had a hand in 15 of the Swans 19 league goals either scoring or assisting. Sigurdsson has 8 assists this season, only Cesc Fabregas has more.
This will be a very close one and it’s very difficult to call. With West Ham at home, Valencia fit and Sakho and Song strong possibilities to make an appearance, I’m going to have to go with the Hammers. I don’t see much value on the Asian Handicap but West Ham to Win @ 2.4 is a very fair price.
