Premier League Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Sunday 15th March

Man Utd v Tottenham Hotspur – Old Trafford at 16:00 live on Sky Sports 1

The Premier League match of the weekend see’s Man Utd host Tottenham on Sunday at Old Trafford. Utd will be looking to bounce back from their FA Cup defeat at the hands of Arsenal on Monday and will be keen to avoid another loss and keep their place in the top 4. This should be a really good match between one of the leagues best home records against an in form team. There’s not a lot that will separate them but we can find some value on the Asia Handicap market.

Many have been questioning why Utd are an odds on shot for this match, they are never convincing and rarely perform well, but Van Gaal has had the knack of grinding out wins at home all season. The Red Devils have won 11 of their 14 league matches at home, losing just twice, the second best record in the league. They’ve scored in 93% of those matches and average 2.14 goals per game. They also keep it tight at the back, conceding just 10 times, they are hard to oppose when playing at home.

With their poor performances though, they do seem to be riding their luck a little and that luck ran out on Monday when they were knocked out of the FA Cup at home to Arsenal. Their only chance of silverware and something for the fans to really cheer about, now gone, it will be interesting to see if they can pick themselves up and secure a Champions League spot.

Spurs know what it’s like to be knocked out of a cup competition, with a Cup final defeat at the hands of Chelsea in the League Cup and an exit from the Europa league within 4 days of each other 2 weeks ago. They followed those defeats up by back to back league wins against Swansea and QPR which showed real mental strength have now only lost once in 7 league matches.

The North London side have a very respectable away record, winning 7 from 13 on the road D2 L4, the fourth best record in the Premier League. Their away matches are often open free scoring affairs, with 85% of them seeing 3 goals or more. They do tend concede on the road but have the ability to out score opponents.

With the form Harry Kane is in, anything seems possible for Spurs at the moment. The young English striker will be going for a 7th consecutive away match in which he has scored, a record held by Cristiano Ronaldo.

There is no doubt that Utd are too short for this match and I’m sure the money will come for Spurs which could see Utd go off odds against. Yes Man Utd’s home record is superb but their performances are not whereas Spurs are in great form and playing well.

Asian Handicap Recommendation: Tottenham +0.5 at 2.0 with BetVictor
