Premier League Asian Handicap Previews – Saturday 9th September

Manchester City v Liverpool

Before the international break, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool humiliated a top-four rival when they thrashed Arsenal 4-0 at Anfield. The German will be hoping for much of the same when he takes his side to Manchester City on Saturday.

He’ll know it won’t be as easy as their last match, as Manchester City are one of the league’s strongest outfits. If there’s one area that Pep Guardiola’s side are vulnerable at, it’s in defense. Klopp will be hoping that the pace and guile of front three Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, and Mo Salah can cause their opponents problem, particularly on the break.

Expect the Reds to maintain their starting 10 outfield players, with new boy Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain having to make do with a place on the bench. Simon Mignolet should regain his place between the sticks after Loris Karius was given the nod against Arsenal. For Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has been experimenting with a 3-5-2 system so far this season and I’d expect him to continue with it against the Reds. Gabriel Jesus has been impressive, but Guardiola may opt for experience against Liverpool’s questionable center-back pairing.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Liverpool 0.25 at 2.490

Everton v Tottenham

Everton boss Ronald Koeman will be delighted with how the club recruited this summer, with the Toffees rivaling the big boys of the leagues in terms of spending power. In came a host of talent, including Michael Keane and Wayne Rooney. Koeman will, though, know that his newly assembled side need to challenge the top teams if they want to make progress this season. Against Chelsea, they struggled to do that, losing 2-0.

For rival manager Mauricio Pochettino, this is a game that Spurs really should be winning if they want to lodge another title challenge. He will be frustrated with the lack of activity during the transfer window, despite securing Fernando Llorente on deadline day, but will have trust in his talented squad.

After their 1-1 draw at home to Burnley, Pochettino could make changes. The Argentine managed could revert to a back three, handing new center-back, Davison Sanchez, his first start for the club. Much of the focus will be on Harry Kane, though, who should be able to score goals again now August is over.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Tottenham -0.75 at 2.510

Leicester v Chelsea

The return of N’Golo Kante. The return of Danny Drinkwater. Never did I think I’d be typing that second sentence, but after the English midfielder made the deadline day switch to Chelsea, he could make his first appearance against the club he joined from; Leicester.

Following up a loss to Manchester United with the visit of Chelsea isn’t exactly ideal for Craig Shakespeare, but he will know that his side can trouble Chelsea. He’ll be frustrated at missing out on being able to register new man Adrien Silva (Drinkwater’s replacement) by 14 seconds and the Foxes’ midfield could be light. I’d expect Andy King, who played twice in the international break for Wales, to come into the Foxes midfield.

This game will be tight, but Chelsea will be confident after beating both Tottenham and Everton in their last two games.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Chelsea -1.00 at 2.560
