Liverpool v Barcelona Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Saturday 6th August by @SC457

Liverpool v Barcelona – Wembley Stadium at 17:15 live on Sky Sports 1

Liverpool play their penultimate pre-season friendly tomorrow evening as they face La Liga Champions Barcelona at Wembley Stadium after their U.S tour. Their final friendly before the beginning of the new Premier League season is scheduled for Sunday against Jurgen Klopp’s former club, Mainz 05 in Germany.

It’s been a very busy Summer for the Reds, kick starting their preparations with four friendly wins over Tranmere, Fleetwood Town, Wigan Athletic, and Huddersfield for a perfect start before they flew out to America to compete in the International Champions Cup.

They started their ICC 2016 campaign with a 1-0 loss to fellow Premier League side, Chelsea before registering a 2-0 win over 2005 Europa League finalists, AC Milan. The tour finished with another defeat at the hands of Roma, going down 2-1 but Klopp has had to deal with a squad ravaged by injury.

Prior to flying out to the U.S, the Merseysider’s were without Sakho, Matip, Leiva and Joe Gomez, but the injury list has since worsened with Moreno, Grujic, Origi, Karius, and youngster Ovie Ejaria all adding to the problem. New signings Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum are both fit for selection and are expected to feature as they look to cement places in the starting line-up for the new season.

Barcelona began their pre-season against Celtic last Saturday and despite still missing a whole host of star names after the European Championships and with Naymar and Rafinha absent due to the Olympics, Barca won comfortably 3-1.

Messi and Suarez did travel with the squad and came on in the second half against Celtic, but were in the starting line-up against Leicester on Wednesday night. Former Liverpool striker, Luis Suarez was on the score-sheet in a another comfortably victory, running out 4-2 winners. Munir El Haddadi netted twice, with the talented youngster Rafa Mujica bagging the other goal. Mujica has really impressed this Summer and Luis Enrique is expected to stick with him against Liverpool.

The Catalan’s were short priced favourites against Celtic and Leicester with the line on the Asian Handicap betting market -1.5 & -1.75 respectively. They are 1.63 to win this one in 90 minutes which I think is generous when looking at both sides last few matches and offer some value -0.75 on the AH market at 1.86.

Once against there also is some value on the Asian goals line market. Barcelona’s last two matches have seen 10 goals, netting 7 themselves and I expect this one to see at least 3 goals again making the odds against available on Over 3 goals look a big price.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Barcelona -0.75 at 1.86 at Over 3 goals at 2.02
