Hertha v Fortuna Asian Total Goals Preview – 6th April Saturday

Hertha v Fortuna – Olympiastadion at 14:30 GMT +1

Hertha Berlin fell to their third straight defeat last weekend as they were hammered 5-0 at high-flying RB Leipzig. Die Bullen were unrelenting in a game played entirely on the hosts’ terms; Leipzig fired in 16 attempts from inside the penalty area as Hertha shipped at least two goals for the third game on the spin.

Head coach Pal Dardai ripped into his players post-match with data suggesting the capital club ran six kilometres fewer than Leipzig despite chasing the game (and the ball) for the bulk of the 90 minutes. The Berlin boss has threatened widespread changes ahead of Saturday in response in that dour display.

Nevertheless, the very fact that Hertha are comfortably perched in mid-table of the Bundesliga yet again owes plenty to the Hungarian’s ability in the dugout. The club legend has been in charge since 2015 and consolidated Hertha in the top-flight, guiding the group well clear of any relegation concerns in that time.

There’s a nice blend of experience and talented youngsters in the Hertha squad with Austrian wing-back Valentino Lazaro impressive this season in a variety of roles and German centre-back Niklas Stark playing his way into his national team, whilst Arne Maier is one of the best midfield prospects in Europe.

On-loan Liverpool playmaker, Marko Grujic has been a success too. Struggling with minor injuries all season, Grujic was nominated for the Bundesliga’s rookie of the month award in December and January and has continually impressed Dardai, who’s keen to keep the Serbian prodigy for longer than this season.

Dusseldorf deliver another enterprising effort

Fortuna Dusseldorf arrive on the back of an excellent 3-1 triumph in the Rhine derby against rivals Borussia Monchengladbach. Rouwen Hennings bagged a brace as the newly-promoted club put 20 points between themselves and the relegation places, all but confirming their place in the Bundesliga next term.

Friedhelm Funkel saw his charges score with their first three shots on-target, all inside the opening 20 minutes. Die Flingeraner have now W8-D1-L4 since mid-December – including W3-D1-L2 on their travels – to move within touching distance of Hertha ahead of their clash in the capital on Saturday afternoon.

But rather than attempt to correctly call which club will conquer in this contest, a smarter approach would be to support a goal-heavy game at the Olympiastadion. Fortuna have seen Over 2.5 Goals feature in 19/27 (70%) outings since promotion with 8/27 (30%) encounters also producing at least four goals.

Hertha have beaten the Over 2.5 Goals line in 17/27 (63%) of their games in 2018/19 as the hosts have only failed to score on five occasions. With such strong goal trends in our favour, it’s surprising to see Over 2.5 Goals trading at kind 1.94 quotes ahead of the weekend’s match-up.

Asian Total Goals Betting Recommendation: Over 2.50 goals at 1.940
