Selhurst Park –23rd November at 13:30
Liverpool continue their Premier League campaign with a visit to Selhurst Park where they take on a Crystal Palace side in desperate need of a win. That said, The Reds themselves are trying to avoid a third consecutive defeat and would like to put last season’s 3-3 draw in the same fixture behind them.
Crystal Palace should welcome back captain Mile Jedinak after serving a ban, if passed fit after returning from international duty. The Eagles have only one point from their last five matches keeping only 2 clean sheets this term. They will be boosted in the knowledge that Liverpool have conceded 18 goals in their last 9 away matches and with Dwight Gayle scoring 3 in 2 against Liverpool, I fancy them to score.
More bad news for Daniel Sturridge this week as he will now be out until the New Year. Liverpool’s top scorer this season is Raheem Sterling and Own Goals (both with 3), maybe it’s time to give Lambert a start as Balotelli is not in best form to say the least. Mario and Henderson should be passed fit after suffering hamstring injuries. The Reds have not won in their last 5 visits to Selhurst Park and have not picked up any points from losing positions this season, they can’t afford to go behind.
This could be a bit of a scrappy one and although it won’t be comfortable, I expect Liverpool to come through this with a much needed win. Liverpool -0.75 @ 2.16 on the Asian Handicap seems like a bit of value, but with an average of 3.5 goals per game between these two clubs in all time premier league games, an Overs bet could be the way to go. Advised trade is Over 2.5 @ 2.05.
