Emirates –22nd November at 17:30
Although both sides have had a poor start to the Premier League this season by their own high standards, this is still a big encounter. The Red Devils head to the Emirates with a squad decimated by injury with the long International break making things worse. It’s no surprise that Arsenal also have their own injury concerns.
Robin van Persie should get the nod up front and will have something to prove heading back to his old club. Rooney who had an impressive International break, has scored 10 premier league goals against Arsenal in his career and will be confident of adding to that on Saturday. Herrera should feature and Januzjai, Fellaini and Mata could all start depending on the fitness of Di Maria. Utd have a defensive crisis though and may be forced to start with Valencia, Smalling, McNair and Blackett.
Danny Welbeck is a worry for after picking up a groin strain on England duty but there are rumours Giroud could return. Fortunately for the Gunners, fit and in form Alexis Sanchez, who has 6 goals in his last 4, has kept them afloat this season. Arsenal are un-defeated in 5 home matches and have scored an average of 2 goals per match at the Emirates.
Man Utd’s away form has been poor picking up only 19% of their points on the road. With both defences as poor as they are and strong attacking players, this could be a high scoring game. Over 3.5 goal is as big as 3.0 but due to Man Utd’s poor away form and possibly very inexperienced defence, my advised trade is Arsenal to Win @ 2.25.
