Manchester City v Manchester United

Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho will resume their rivalries on Sunday when Manchester City hosts Manchester United for their Premier League clash. The Manchester derby is one of the most anticipated derbies in European football so things could get quite a bit heated on Sunday’s face-off. The undefeated leading side Manchester City are looking forward to bag their fourth consecutive Premier League title as they entertain their local opposition Manchester United, who are also seeking their third straight win in the English top flight.

Man City doesn’t have a single loss in any of their previous 53 Premier League fixtures ever since their 4-0 beating against Everton back in January 2017. Meanwhile, Man United, who won in a 3-2 match at the Etihad Stadium last season even though they faced a 2-0 setback, are seeking to accomplish a another succeeding Premier League triumph at the ground for only the second time, after doing so in November 2008 and April 2010.

The Manchester rivals have met a total of 42 times in the Premier League campaign with Man United coming out victorious 21 times, City 13, and a number of 8 draws between the two teams. United and City were able to beat each other on their respective turfs last season, with City bagging the 2-1 win at Old Trafford in December before United secured a 3-2 revenge victory at the Etihad Stadium in April the next year which eventually cost Manchester City their longed-for title.

Liverpool v Fulham

Second seed Liverpool will welcome Premier League strugglers Fulham to Anfield on Sunday, with Liverpool aiming to get over their middle of the week disappointment following their loss to Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League. However, the opposing team is in far worse form after being beaten by Huddersfield last week. The Reds are looking forward to return to their winning ways after conceding a late goal equaliser against Arsenal.

Liverpool won all of their eight Premier League home fixtures against top-ranked teams under Jurgen Klopp, netting 25 goals and conceding only three. Daniel Sturridge had a hand in five goals in his previous three Premier League matches for Liverpool against Fulham, with four attacks and one assist. Mo Salah is currently holding a record of averaging a goal or an assist in every 66 minutes against promoted Premier League sides for Liverpool, producing a total of four goals and five assists in 592 minutes. Fulham’s last campaign in the Premier League saw them in two thrilling face-offs against Liverpool with the Reds claiming a 4-0 win which was followed by an energetic match that finished in a 3-2 win for the away side.

Liverpool has seen its first setback against Red Star after a strong start to the season, leaving Jurgen Klopp’s team in the third place in the Champions League group rankings. Considering this, Klopp wouldn’t be too concerned against Fulham who are now at the bottom of the league table. In the meantime, Fulham will have to rely on a strong defense since they have yet to keep a clean sheet this season, scoring none in their previous three games.

Liverpool will have to prove that they can still win the title victory. With that said, Sunday’s fixture between these two teams will be one of the most anticipating ones in this season’s Premier League.

Chelsea v Everton

The undefeated Chelsea will be taking on Everton at Stamford Bridge in one of the most stand-out fixtures in this week’s Premier League. Chelsea are also looking to claim their third consecutive Premier League victory as they battle Everton who are also looking for a fifth win from their previous six top-flight fixtures.

The Blues currently sits on the second place at the Premier League table alongside Liverpool. Chelsea has remained unbeaten in their 23 Premier League home matches against Everton since a 1-0 defeat way back in November 1994.

Everton is still looking to improve their form in the Premier League since being beaten in 11 of their previous 13 matches while ending a draw in the other two. Furthermore, if Chelsea manages to prevent a loss in the duel against Everton, Maurizio Sarri will be setting a new record for the longest undefeated Premier League start by a manager or a head coach, accomplishing 12 matches and also overtaking Frank Clark’s record of 11 fixtures back in the 1994-95 season.

The match between the two should be a fascinating contest. Chelsea are still unbeaten in this year’s campaign while Everton have won four of their previous five matches, most recently, their remarkable performance during a 3-1 triumph against Brighton. Will Everton’s awful form at Stamford Bridge set to continue on Sunday’s fixture?
