Premier League Asian Handicap Previews – Sunday 20th August

Tottenham v Chelsea

The first big derby of the Premier League campaign takes place in London when reigning Champions Chelsea head to White Hart Lane.

For both teams, the summer has been interesting. Chelsea should be on a high, but the frustration of manager Antonio Conte is evident and star striker Diego Costa is at loggerheads with the club whilst taking refuge in his homeland of Brazil.

At Tottenham, there have been few murmurs of frustration (Danny Rose aside) but the lack of spending by Daniel Levy must have left Mauricio Pochettino with a sour taste in his mouth. Unlike Chelsea, though, Spurs got off to a cracking start to the season, beating newly promoted Newcastle away from home.

Both teams are strong and this could get heated. The rivalry is not only on the pitch and between fans, but between the managers, who are up against each other for the FIFA best coach award. This could be their showdown.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Spurs -0.50 at 2.098

Huddersfield v Newcastle

Two newly promoted sides, two differing opening matches. For Newcastle, they faced the tough task of taming a rampant Spurs side and failed, losing 2-0. Huddersfield had a slightly easier task, taking on a Crystal Palace side still adjusting to the ways of new Dutch manager Frank De Boer, but take nothing away from David Wagner’s side; their opening day win was emphatic.

A 3-0 romp certainly opened the eyes of the Premier League and they’ll be hoping they can take that form into their first home tie of the season.

Newcastle will be hoping they can bounce back from an expected loss to Tottenham. They pipped Huddersfield – who came up via the play-offs – to the Championship title last year and beat the Terriers 3-1 in this fixture last year.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Huddersfield -0.50 at 2.490

Manchester City v Everton

Two of the biggest spenders this summer go head-to-head on Monday night when Ronald Koeman takes his Everton side to face his former Barcelona team-mate Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.

Both sides saw opening game wins, but both will know that this is their first true test of the season. Questions will still be asked of the Manchester City defense, with new goalkeeper Ederson looking shaky at times in net, and Koeman will be hoping new boys Rooney, Sandro and Sigurðsson can do the business.

For Manchester City, Pep Guardiola will be pleased with how Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus worked together up front and will no doubt keep the pairing at home. He has an abundance of talent in his squad and this will tell whether they are title challengers or not.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Everton 1.00 at 2.930
