Aston Villa v QPR – Villa Park at 19:45

With the Premier League all but secured by Chelsea in what has been a pretty disappointing title race, the relegation battle is starting to heat up at the other end of the table.

QPR travel to Aston Villa tonight in a massive game with both sides in desperate need of 3 points.

The Hoops come into the match on the back of only their second away win of the season at the weekend beating WBA 4-1 at the Hawthorns. Rangers haven’t won back to back league games though this season but with the knowledge they can move out of the bottom 3 if they win by 2 or more goals, they will be well up for it tonight.

Villa made a great start to March winning back to back matches but have now lost their last 2 league games. With their next 2 matches both away to Tottenham and Man City, they know how important it is to secure 3 points this evening and put some daylight between themselves and the drop zone. A win for the Villains will see them move up to 15th and 6 points in front of Burnley in 18th place.

So we have the leagues worst home record against the worst away record, the draw will be very popular. QPR don’t so draws away from home though with 13 losses and 2 wins this campaign. Rangers are priced up a little high for me though which makes them a good bet on the Asian Handicap market.

Villa lack goals, in their last 14 Premier League matches they have scored just 9 and 4 of those came against an awful Sunderland side. Whereas QPR have scored in each of their last 6 outings, scoring 9 in total.

The Hoops have a rotten run in with Chelsea, Liverpool and City all to play, so similar to Villa they will be looking at this match as one they can realistically take points from and I think they will.

QPR have the attacking quality to win this game but I’m not totally confident they will. Backing them with the draw on our side is the smart bet.

Asian Handicap Recommendation: QPR +0.5 @ 1.84
